In the wet even.  Dry track, Ferrari hammers him.  I'm surprised Crashmacher didn't try to ram him though.

Yeah, the 1 time he did beat the Eurofighter is was by the slimmest of margins.  I heard Schumacher put banana skins under the wheels of the Eurofighter :)

You'll notice that they made sure they put a nice wide median between the two of them.

Great driver, piss poor sportsman.  If he was the best ever he wouldn't need to cheat to win.

I still think Fangio, Clark, Senna, and Stewart are the best ever F1 drivers.

Fangio yes Clark yes.
Stewart was a whiner.
And I was speaking of the # of championships won.

MS Is a smartasrse that Is true and he Is smug as hell.
But he is very very good at what he does Win championships.

Fangio didn't even become a regular in F-1 until he was 40.

different era of cars back then not nearly as safe as it is today and the speeds weren't that much different.

I don't think Stewart was a whiner, he just got tired of seeing several of his friends die each year. F1 was very unsafe in those years, and track conditions were terrible. And notice out of the 4 drivers I have mentioned 2 died on the track and Stewarts teamate/friend died at watkins glen in 73? Stewart quit after the race.

Im not a big Shuie fan either - but he does lay claim to the best F1 quote EVAR!

Reporter:  "Michael, do you have any comment on Jaques Villeneuve's statement concerning the new United States GP circut at Indianapolis?"

MS:  "Im am not aware of any comments."

Reporter:  ""The Indianapolis circut is Mickey Mouse.""

MS:  "Then it should suit him."

:D

from what I read the F1 won by .02 sec in the 600 meter.
the jet won by .02 sec in the 1000 meter.
and the jet won by 2.5 sec in the 1500 meter.

Uh... Bananna peels would only work if the wheels were drive wheels... so no wonder British jets suck.

F1 sounds great in person.  Nothing like it.  TV doesn't capture it too well.  Makes it sound too whiny.  You must visit Mecca (http://www.brickyard.com/).

Primary example.  I still remember that - even the commentators were up in arms.

How can they put so much power down to those tiny wheels on the eurofighter?

are they chain-driven?

rubbish

Villeneuve dived up the inside, and rammed into the side of the ferrari,  knocking it off the road.

Schumacher turned left to AVOID contact (as you said it was a right corner).

Yes i do still slightly hate him for what he did to Hill....But lately ive become a fan, anything to stop David or Mika winning......

BUT now Montoya is my man again, i used to LOVE watching him in CART (Champcar now?) and finaly im injoying watching him in F1.

With the Young guns coming up now I cant wait for 2004-2008...Watching Alonso, Kimi, and Monty fight it out is going to be a sight i dont want to miss! :)

Overlag you are joking right?  The videos clearly show MS turning his steering wheel to drive into JV's car.

F1, Indy, Champ Car; Alex Zanardi has to have some of the biggest stones.

Quote
from the Champ Car web site, Dec 8

Alex Zanardi was awarded his second 'achievement' trophy at London's prestigious Autosport Awards on Sunday. The Italian was given the Gregor Grant Trophy in recognition of completing the 13 laps at the Lausitzring in a specially adapted Champ Car less than two years after losing his legs in crash there.

"This is a fantastic honor," said Zanardi. "To win it once was very special. To win it a second time makes me very, very proud." The two-time Champ Car champion was leading the race when he crashed with 13 laps to go in September 2001. This year he returned to the track and in a special ceremony before the race lapped at over 197mph.

Reminds me of Niki Lauda's come back.

I don't think he was the best driver.  Clark and Stewart were clearly faster driving the same car at Lotus and BRM respectively.  But as a sportsman and gentleman, he was the last of a breed.  There's noboby remotely like him anymore.  :(

I think F1 Magazine last year had as the all time top ten drivers start with:

Clark
Schumacher
Fangio

personally...nothing better than the red ones going around with schuey in it...

'05 could be really interesting with Montoya in a McLaren, Webber in a Williams, and possibly Ralf in a toyota.

If the toyota can get better reliability/speed in '04, Da Matta looks the business....
