Both of my sons are trying to get me to stand in line with them for the midnight showing when it opens here. Anyone else planning to see it then?
-
I can wait until the lines subside... that is usually day 2 around here.
-
I will be seeing the movie on wed at 6pm. (allready bought the tickets)
-
Thursday, 10:20am - Fandango is grrrreat!
-
I am AK but I'm all the way over in fort worth and watching it out at the brand new RaveMotion theatre. It'll be the debut film for it.
-
Man I am so stoked about this movie! Being a hardcore Tolkien fan (yes yes, Filmamir bugged me a little, thought Theoden was a little too wimpy in TTT etc.) I've been trying to temper my anticipation and haven't been paying attention to most reviews about it though I understand it appears many are glowing.
I had the lid on it until I read the following posts from someone attending the Berlin premiere - 99% spoiler free except for one teeny eency mention that he forewarns you about so you can skip it (link provided below)!

I'm anxious to see this movie and almost willing to sit in a theatre crowded with elves and dwarves. A long wait and/or line nixes it for me though. Think I'll be doing the same as MT.
-
I've already got my midnight showing ticket.

I am also a big Tolkien fan.
I was pissed when I got out of TTT because of Faramir.
If Faramir had let them go then they would have been out of the rest of the movie.
And it would also have made the ring look weak to people who did not read the books.
It is suppose to be really powerfull, so it should affect him.
Love this quote from Faramir:
"I would not ensnare even an orc in falsehood."
In Tolkien's books, people who lie are easier to deceive.
Peter Jackson had to take into consideration all the people who have not read the books for is movies.
It was a necessary compromise.

I'll wait a week or 2, then catch it on a early sunday showing.
Be fun to belt on "sting" & go in costume but its probably not worth it.

My youngest (20) saw The Last Samurai last night. Now he's ready to move back to Japan. :)

I thought that one might be a bit much for the 10 year old..
I understand it has scenes in it that are "kill bill"ish..
