I believe funkypants is referring to those people who are chronic geeks with no hope for a cure who dress as hobits and orks, much like those people who weren't breastfed as babies who dress up like Stormtroopers and Darth Vader when a Star Wars movie comes out.

Oh whatever.  Skywalker might have the Force, but Aragorn has the blood of the Numenorean flowing through his viens.  Superhuman d00D!  Plus he's not all conflicted and have issues with his old man.  Whiny *****, excuse me, Luke is going down.

PS:  Luck: I'm Luke sucky ass, I have 2 weeks of sword practice, I will not fight you."

Aragorn: "Neat, I have about 70 years of experiance, your going down child."

hey Luke kicked his old man's prettythang, and he was born of the Force.  I'm thinking he could take down Aragorn.
Besides, Aragorn has issues with being king and the Arwen ball & chain.  Luke has no girlie to hold him back.  :p

But Capt. Kirk could take them both on, and still give love to the ladies afterwards.  :D

man you guys are such nerds

Question:  Would superman be able to defeat luke or aragorn?
Geek Answer:  Stupid question.  Superman isn't real.

If you mean Take Luke up the rear while taking Aragorn in the front, then yeah Kirk could do it.

Aragorn would kick Lukes ***** as in a second...  Kirk who?

Now Jules Winnfield would take both them down, while asking if he looked like a *****, and reciting some scripture.

Luke:

-Whiney, sure
-Forcey, yup
-Can move objects by squinting his eyes and reaching
-Really cool, cut through anything, lightsaber
-Pissed and going through puberty
-Girl problems
-X-Wing
-Has Jedi Masters come to him in visions telling him how to better kick ass
-Trained by Yoda... WHAT!
-Important, evil daddy

Aragorn:

-Conflicted
-Has an Elvish necklace
-Hand me down refabricated sword
-Softspoken loner
-Horse
-Beard
-Girl problems x2
-Says 'Mordor' funny
-Can track things
-Important, evil daddy

Victor:  Luke by default.  Aragorn uses the power of his beard and insults Luke in Elvish, but at the end of the day the Sword of the King is cut in half once more by Luke's cool blue saber as Aragorn takes pause to contemplate the meaning of his relationship with Agent Smith's daughter.

Saur
I have just one thing to say..,

Dorky Jedi code.... he can't attack Aragorn cause he is a good guy... That would be a move to the dark side..

Aragorn on the other hand has a huge coolness factor Luke could never face.

If the battle where directed by Pete jackson it would be epic, it would have fantastic visuals, and you would walk away in awe..

If Lucas directed it, it would have Jar jar, it would be aimed at 6 year olds, it would have really REALLY bad dialog, the actors who in the past had seem to be good, would act like they where in a really bad  b movie... and all the effects would be art deco looking digital crap... You would walk out cursing lucas for taking away the coolness of your fav childhood movie.

Ok, so even if we run down the lineup then, who is next?

Han Solo would kick the dwarf's ass.

Vader would choke that elvish man/woman dude.

And Ill take a division of storm troopers over Orc's anyday.  I dont wanna hear any **** about Nazgul either - TIE Fighters, *****.  ;)

PS:  Mini, just because Luke was kinky doesnt make him a bad person.  I think Aragorn is marching towards the friend zone.

Granted - after seeing the first two LOTR movies, I wish Jackson would have done the new SW flicks - in that battle, Lucus loses before he knows hes fighting.

LOL you may have me on the chars, but even you admit that Lucas could not handle directing a real movie!

Don't mind me, I just despise george lucas. I despise him for delaying the Indy Jones movies. I despise him even more for taking the 3 movies from my childhood tarishing their coolness with his gimmicks and then ruining the Starwars legacy with the Crap that he puts out and calls episodes 1 and 2. I despise him for marketing the crappy B movies towards kids who do not know what starwars is and turning his backs on the real fans....

Man that guy is a tool. How he came up with the first three will always keep me wondering.

Joseph Campbell, I believe.

Also, E4 was not as good as E5 and E6 (except for E6 teddy bears).  Let's see, Lucas directed E1, E2, and E4.  Someone competent directed E5 and E6.  I think there might be a pattern here.

He did not direct Empire and Jedi?

LOL
Title: Return of Teh Ghey
Post by: mold on December 18, 2003, 02:00:50 PM
Nope.  Just checked imdb, looks like a guy named Irvin Kershner did Empire, and Richard Marquand did Jedi.  Lucas is an incompetent ass.  I believe he is not releasing "pre-special-edition" DVDs of the originals, even though you'd think there is a ton of demand for those.  He knows everyones hates his chit, but his ego is too big to admit it.

Look at anticipation vs reaction to E1.  After that debacle, there was no anticipation for E2.  LOL.

Your right lol, I went and saw E3 after it was out for weeks.... lol it was ho hum.... I did buy the DVD though... I will NEVER buy E1 though.

You do not think he is ever going to release the first three movies on DVD (e4 E5 E6) or he will mess with them before he does?

He really is an ass, I remeber an interview with him after episode one and he was asked how he felt about the bad reviews..His answer was, how can it be a bad movie with all the money it made?

LoL he does not understand it could have been made with stick figures and everyone would have gone and been duped ONE TIME... lol.
I feel like skipping E3 just in protest...

as someone that never read the books as a kid and therefore has no emotional attachment to the movie i can safely say these movies sucked. they had good special effects but the overall story and writing was terrible. matrix terrible.

I never read the books as a kid either - although I have since read Fellowship and Towers simply because I enjoyed the movies.

I have to totally disagree with you though.  The LotR trilogy is what the original Star Wars trilogy was 25 years ago and what E1, E2, and E3 should have (and wont be).

In terms of 'best trilogies' Id put The Matrix right up with such favorites as the first three Revenge of the Nerds films.

Jackman has made the best collection of flicks Ive seen in a long time.

Yeah, he's gonna mess with em.  Remember those "special edition" rereleases in the theaters some years ago?  Like 97 or 98 I think.  With that ****ed-up added scene with Jabba in E4, for example.  I think those are the only ones he is releasing on DVD.

Not huge differences, but whatever was changed was for the worse.  He's refusing to release the originals on DVD, apparently.

I liked how Sam Raimi pulled in B. Campbell for the cameo wrestling announcer in Spider Man.  That was a perfect role for him.

aint hyperspace faster then lightspeed. They play in the whole galaxy in Star Wars. Compared to dinky little quadrants filled with aliens  with funky noses. An ISD would own the Enterprise
Title: Shame Lucas won't release original E4
Post by: abunabi on December 19, 2003, 01:48:02 PM
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think the real shame with Lucas not releasing the original "A New Hope" is that the movie got Oscars for special effects.  That movie created ILM with the effects crews inventing how to do some of the effects, which are now all replaced by CGI in the 'special editions'.  By not releasing the original not only is a piece of film history being trashed, but the legacy of those who did the original special effects will be forgotten.

funny,,, well enterprize does got shields atleast,,i think hyperspeed is a bit faster than light,,doesnt han say somthing about falcon going point somthing over lightspeed?<~~i know one of you know the anser,,hehe,,but warp speed is outragous,,i think 1 warp is suposta be somthing like 10 times the speed of light,,so star trek speeds are insane,,lol

phasers and photon torps make it a mean machine,,i think the isd would have a chance because of its fighter bays and pure size,,,,but it would be so slow and a nice target for the enterprize,<~~isd couldnt move fast anuff to get out of the way,,,enterprize could swoop in,,launch a few attacks and leave before they could scrabble there fighters,,lol

Not if it's the Executor and Vader is on board.  Vader could use the force to make the warp coil on the Enterprise self distruct.

Jordi: Captain, we are showing fluctuations in the warp field.

Riker:  Sorry Jordi, the captain can't speak to you, he appears to be choking to death.
