Does HTC accually look at this board for new ideas on vehicles,or is there somewere else ideas need to be posted. I have five ideas on some GV's and I would like them to atleast be considered.:D
-
Speaking of ground vehicles, for offline practice, is it possible for an arena to be set up so that the drone drivers (Hitech, Yankee et al) are driving gv's around instead of Ponies? (for that matter, buff's instead of Ponies?)
Has anyone at least done an arena with static arrays of gv's in various orientations for target practice? I want to find the vulnerable spot on the Tiger that my opponent always seems to find first shot when I'm finally driving one.

I've heard that the left front quarter panel on the Tgr is a weak spot on the game, not sure for myself haven't actcually tried that spot myself. All I go for is the sides (track and turret) or the rear (by the exahust covers) seems to have worked for me, sometime one shot kills deppending on range.
Now we need something a little more stronger than the Pzr IV like ............ the Panther tank would be a good one or the Marder tank destroyer. :)
We got the M3 half track how about a German half track the Stuka zu Fuss, can actcualy be equipped with mortars and allready has two machine guns at front and rear position.:D

I would like to see allies/axis tanks like
Achilles IIC
Elefant
Hetzer
Jagopanther
Jagopanzer
Jagotiger
M4 A3 "Sheman
M7 Priest
M-10
M26 "Pershing"
Mark I Centurion
Mark VII Chrchill
Stug V
T-34
T-34-85
Tiger II "King Tiger"
Wespe
Wirbelwind

As a fan of the GV aspect in AH (both driving and bombing them), I would love to see more GVs in general.
On the topic of Tank Destroyers (Marder, Jagdpanzer, JagdPanther, JagdTiger, M10, ec.), I would rather see the regular turreted, closed top tanks first-Shermans, T-34s, Chuchills and Cromwells. There has been a call for M-18 Hellcats, but the problem (as I see it) with American TDs (or the Marders, for that matter) is their open top. Since this is primarily a flight sim, all you would need to do to stop a TD advance is to straffe the open top and that would be the end of the TD's offensive. Although with the trees the danger from aerial straffing attacks diminishes, I assume that the HE modeling in AH will stay the same, and all an enemy tank will have to do is airburst one of their HE shells on a tree turnk above your turret to get the same effect (Flakpanzers can already destroy their own main guns by shooting the roof of VHs when they spawn).
With the German Jadg and Soviet SU series TDs, the problem is more of aiming the main gun since they don't have turrets, and require using the driver to aim in the general direction (an option for HT would be to have hull rotational control available from the gunner's position without having to have forward momentum).
That is not to say that I don't want TDs included in the future-I do-I would just like to see the tanks that I think will get the most bang for their buck in the game before the TDs.

Rafe, we'd be lucky to get that many new planes.

I think Panzer is german for Panther
I think, not sure though.
-
It is. I would like to see some more GV's. Would be interesting.

"Panzer" means "Armored Vehicle" (mainly in reference to tanks). The "Panther" is the Panzerkampfwagen V (at least I think that's how it's spelled).
AH has the Panzer Mark IV, Ausf. H medium tank, not the Panther.
Here is a good site for WW2 tank info:

Actually, 'panzer' just means 'armor'. 'Panzerkampfwagen' translates as 'armored fighting vehicle'; the word was commonly shortened to 'panzer', so you cold say that colloquially it meant 'armored vehicle'.
The PzKpfW IV is the Panzerkampfwagen IV ausführung H, SdKfz 161/2 (Sonderankraftfahrzeug -- 'special motor vehicle'); the Tiger is the Panzerkampfwagen VI ausführung E, SdKfz 181.

more gv's i guess would be cool. i'd say "yea" to the russian tank for sure. and prob the pershing.

New to this BB stuff, as if couldn't allready tell. How do you go about attatching pics. Do you is the IMG tab and type a file name or what. :D

As most of you in AH already know, I / we {LTAR} is a ground Unit in AH for the Knights.
There is only one {maybe two} more veh's that are so desperatately needed, the Wirbelwind & Sherman :D (http://www.artcom.com/museums/vs/gl/300.jpg) (http://www.panzer-modell.de/berichte/wirbelwind/f01g.jpg)
-
Ok as for the LTAR post, you guys don't need any more guns on your anti-aircraft vehicles... So that wirbelwind is out :D
As for the others I think the Tigers would dominate the Russian and US tanks in the MA, the only thing that will change that scenario is the perk values.
As for the King Tiger, if that ever showed up it would have to have a perk value comparable to a 262 or greater IMO. Plain tigers are already partially indestructable from the air, and can be tough to take out with a panzer depending on your luck... A king tiger would be unreal, if used for base defense, with supplies, you would be in "God Mode" =)

Actually, the Wirbelwind would be less effective than the Ostwind unless you had a particularly good gunner, for a simple reason -- where the Ostwind has a feed tray for its ammunition (and the loader can just keep slapping sticks of 37mm rounds on the tray all day long), the Wirbelwind had separate 20-round magazines for each of its guns -- so that after you'd fired off your 80 rounds, you'd have to wait while the clips were changed before you could shoot again. Assuming that the clips were modelled, that would give you about a three-second burst, then you'd have to wait several seconds to reload.
If it was modelled as just one continuous ammo load, then it should be perked; the ROF would make it entirely too powerful as a 'free' ride.
-
i think the Wirbelwind would see heavy use in the main so it would to be perked about 25
