I put them on last night. Not any appreciable difference for most games or apps. The only one I noticed a marked improvement on was COD, able to crank it to full and ran smoother than ever before with no problems.

I'm using them now too.  I can't see any real differences in AH2 with them vs the 3.7s.  Framerates are still very low in AH2.

Yeah I installed em I was using the Omega drivers.
I found that the Omegas gave a little better pic quality.
But the frame rates are the same.

Historically...which one's have folks found better to use?

And, do you have the link to the Omega drivers?

Thanks

After installing the 3.7 driver my system went into safe mode and the lowest 'color' settin.  The only way to restore it was to remove the Catalyst driver and go to an older one.

Mr Black did you have to flash the video card bios to use those Omega drivers?

No flashing required just install them in place of the ATI version.

Omega drivers have generally worked great for me except the one before these. I ran the 3DMark bechmark and was only able to get 350. When I uninstalled and then installed the 3.9Cat Ati original drivers, I got 1221.

I have an ecs L7VMM mb with an XP2000+, Radeon 9000  pro and 512 MB Mem.

This could be specific to my machine only but I dont want to spend the time to install the new omega driver to see if it was :-)

Rgds

Best to remove anything pertaining to ati from your system before installing the drivers.

There is a utillity on ATIs website I think it's called driver removale utillity or something like that.
it removes evrything even from your registry.

Omega drivers give far worse score in 3DMark. I get 4200 points using Cataclyst 3.9 and 3.10 and a mere 2800 with the Omega drivers. That's 30% difference.

test both drivers with 3DMark your self, see what you get, best way to find the best driver.

Omega drivers are going to give better picture quality not better FPS.
Also they have more features than the cat drivers .
In reality they are just optimized cat drivers with more features.

Got the omega drivers for CAT 3.10 but they didn't work, couldn't get SMARTGART to hold a setting so it was at 0x AGP. Dunno if that was just a bug because I was still able to play the usual games albeit at a lower framerate than the omegas based on CAT 3.9.
So I ditched the omega 3.10s and went back to 3.9 (2.496c). I've heard that the previous versions seem to work better for some people, I started using from 3.9 so maybe I'll try the 3.7s, see if there's an improvement in framerates.

Kaz, the Intel (E7205) Granite Bay chipset (which is used on your motherboard) has a known unfixable bug in its AGP controller.  It cannot run at AGP8X speeds without problems, and is not AGP 3.0 compliant.  Smartgart probably recognizes this and sets the card to PCI mode.  You could probably manually set it to use AGP 4X with fast writes off and be fine.

Wow didn't know that, but it explains a lot, thanks Bloom!.

Now I'm getting a new motherboard, at the moment the Asus P4P800 Deluxe (based on the intel 865PE chipset) looks to be the best performance/value for my price range.

Any suggestions for other mobo's welcome.:aok
