Flossy-
I remember you talking about your cougar, and I've had mine for about 18 months.
Some odd things happened lately and I was wondering if you had the same problems.
Sometimes when I push a button on my stick, the guns fire for no reason and wont stop unless I move the stick around or smack it.
Has this ever happened to you?
I've tried to simulate it in Keytest but have not been able to. It only seems to hapen in AH.
I'm wondering if it's my TMJ or TMM file. I use Revvin's.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks in advance.

No, can't say I've ever had that particular problem..... but more and more often now it seems I have to re-program it at least once, sometimes twice, before it works properly. First thing I do now when I enter the MA is see if I can minimise the clipboard and expand the text buffer using buttons on the throttle and stick - both indicators of whether the programming has worked or not.

Ive had that happen as well as it burping off rounds constantly. This combined with too many other problems has mine in the closet and me saving up for some CH gear. Ive been through 2 Cougars and have had too many problems for the amount of money I paid.

Use a mouse and you wont have those problems:aok .

I get that with the pinky button - I have to disable auto startup of the Launcher and then load it manually after WinXP has booted up. In game it would cause everything the stick to lock up and you'd have to Alt F4 to get out.
Only other thing you could try is taking it apart and cleaning the switches?

Pinky button can get a build up of crud around it causing it to stick, also just try slackening the screw next to it a bit.
I have had 2 cases of uncalled for button pushes executing, both times i have traced it to bad wiring in the cable from the joystick to the throttle.
If you move your cougar around a lot over time the wires break down inside the cable, causing all sorts of wierd effects.
Try moving the cable around in game and see if anything occurs.

Good Idea, Cav.
I'll give it a shot, otherwise I'm sending the stick into TM for repairs. Its still under warranty.

From the description of your problem it may also be worth carefully taking the sticks handle apart and looking for a wire disconnected or shorting on another, or the casing.
-
And lo, it is found...
Apparently, the wire from my cougar to my throttle was worn to the point where the insulation was stripped.
Packed it up, and it's off to TM for repair...
Now the waiting begins....
Who will you guys vulch while I'm gone??

Get CH.Never fails.

You are correct , except for the Pro Peddles USB, they tend to strip the wires inside, but once fixed and move out of the way of the sliding rudders, it will last a LONG time:)
