Everytime I think I have all the strange GV quirks figured out, I get another head scratcher. Mabey someone could shed some light on this. My question is...Is it the different terrain maps that make ending sortie results so erratic?
Last night I was in an ostie 3.5k from the A8 runway with a disabled engine. I patiently waited a few minutes while the field was captured by knights, then ended sortie. "You have crashed" (no kill awarded) ....What??? Lol, on other maps I have been 5K from friendly objects and decided to just save time and ditch. "You have landed sucessfully" ???
So is it a terrain thing?

If it's a friendly base and you're not on the runway then you'll get a ditch - the person who damaged you may be awarded the kill if he's still alive, think this is dependent on how near your base you are if you get a ditch/death.
If it's an enemy base/area then you have to wait until any enemy are out of icon range before trying to land successfully. Again, if you've taken damage and that person is still alive they'll be awarded the kill. If enemy in the area you'll be captured or get a proximity death if they're within .... 2k?

Yes, yes. What Im getting at is that sometimes I see deaths in the VH radius, sometimes landed. Or general variences in the other situations mentioned. What I am asking is there a corrilation between the map in question, and the result to expect?
This subject came up when the tiger was released, but I dont recall seeing a detailed explaintion that made sence of the oddities. Most of the time general rules work, but sometimes odd things seem to happen.

If it's in the VH radius then make sure to EF on a light coloured tile of the 'VH Spider'. I've always managed a successful landing. The only thing that might prevent you if you're trying to EF on some debris and that will give you a ditch.

On Pizza, at V38 I drove my tiger inside vh and got ditched msg. :mad: Oh before you ask, yes it was our vh. I had 5 kills and yet only lost 8.01 perks. I sent off an email about 3 weeks ago, still have yet to get a reply. Guess AH2 has higher priority.
Oh well :(
