I have been reading threads about perking this plane or that for various reasons. I have also heard that its the pilot not the plane. So I thought about it and maybe we should go at it from another direction.
Facts
- Drex is overmodeled.. he has way to high a K/D Ratio and is UBER!
- hblair has too much time in German Aircraft and knows there flight characteristics too well!
- Citaberia just knows too much about everything!
- Hangtime knows nothing about anything and his Cat is always puking furballs on his keyboard when he flys! (He should get Perk points for just taking off!)
- StSanta's butt is so big I mistake him for a Buff and it takes too many rounds to bring him down!
This is just a short list... I am SURE that others can provide better examples. Maybe if HTC charged Drex $300.00 a month he wouldn't shoot down as many planes. And on the other hand if he paid Hangtime $300.00 a month he would learn how to shoot down a Lufftwaffe Pilot! :)
Just a thought!
Salute,
Thunder

HTC HIRE THIS MAN!! :D

WHAT!!???!!
I didn't make the list!!!!????!!!
That hurts Thunder. :(
Please edit this post and add my name :p
Good winging with ya yesterday BTW <S>

Have been an advocate of perking the pilot for along time!!
However, the better pilot you are the more stuff may happen to your plane:gun jams, engine failure, bad gas(no,no, not that kinda gas, but fuel for the plane)etc.
When ya get real good, you spawn and the plane just disintergrates around you on the runway.
:D :D

I know this post is a joke but this is really what its comming to.
Aces High to me is fun because it's something that i can get better at. Its fun to see my stats improve a little each tour and its fun to start seeing those big names in the kill buffer every now and then. If anything i think it would be cool to reward a pilot for getting better. maybe the top 3 pilots in a given airplane can get a perk version with a hotrod engine in that plane for a tour or something. To me this would add much more to the game then perking more planes.
just my $.02

Comme here and cleanup the coffe I've put on my screen :) :) :)

Them really good sticks should have killshooter happen to 'em when they hit my plane! It'd be the only way I'd ever shoot 'em down! :D

I've always been a proponent of handi-cap systems, after all, lets compare:
If Citabria shoots me down, it just adds to his ego (if thats possible)...now, lets say I'm golfing against Tiger Woods, and he beats me soundly by 21 strokes, you think Tiger Woods is going to be patting himself on the back for that?
BRING THE HANDI-CAP SYSTEM TO ACES HIGH!
:)

Wouldn't he be patting you on the back for only losing by 21? :)

(sorry Rip, had to be said :))

LOL; Math yah beat me to it!
BTW, take me off the list. My scores have declined every tour since we came outta beta and my warp button stopped workin. I have accumulated 27 perk points and may be able to fly a Tempest (once) by tour 35. And I have a limp. And a neckbrace. And my kidneys ain't so good. Plus my new glasses have 'open other end' stamped on them. Wanna see my teeth?
P.S. I think a pilot handicap would be a good thing.

I am all for a pilot perking system. I do question the validity of basing it off of score.

I am all for a handy cup. If it's Rioja or Bordeaux, better. :D

lol 1776 :D
this isnt such a bad idea! it would be an acheivement to get handicapped and even better knowing when you get a kill and youre handicapped you have done even better :)

Throw out the perks altogether. Or rather revise them to be what they were intended be:
1) Give 100 perks at the start of each tour for anyone under 100. If you have over 100, you keep what you have.
2) Allow perk points to accumulate slowly for time spent in the air, online, If no control input is given in over an hour the perk counter stops untill input is given (this stops the park it at a back base and leave).
3) Give perks for damage done, not just things destoryed, or aircraft killed.
4) Give perk points for makeing and takeing part in missions. (A mission would have to include at least 3 aircraft, and be at least .75% filled to qualify for points)
I DON'T LIKE PERKS the way they are.

Wow...only .75% participation needed?!?! In that case you could fly one man missions and still be over the limit. :D

After reading Thunder's post (and Drex's reply) I have just one thing to say. "The check's in the mail, Yankee!"
-
It may or may not even things out.
I personally would feel better knowing I shot down a Drex quality pilot as-is, rather than knowing I got him cause of a handicap systym.
Why not just put a identifying systym.
Say a star, or more than one, depending upon the pilot, that would let us know a pilots skill.
It would also give everyone something to work for.

who needs a star
i can always tell when im flying against a good pilot, and many times even tell who it is. If its an exceptional p51 driver who has balls, its RWY or Hangtime. If its an excepional p51 pilot who doesnt, its Ice or Yeager. If its a good p38 driver, its citabria or moss. If its a good tiffie its manedew or wardog. If its a good 109 without balls, its santa. if its a good 109g10 or 190 a8 with balls, its nathbdp or kirin. A good 109 g2, its camo or another llv34....
well some of these ppl dont play anymore so it doesnt apply. but you get the idea.

i am the best pilot here hmmmmm ok!?
i am
the best

No I don't, I haven't got near enough talent to recognize anyone but an afk player.
Sax

perk the AFK player!
-
Somehow, I have this knack for finding Drex. Killing him, no, but finding him, yes.
I'm hoping my new control setup will help with the 47 king, and a few others too.
I can't wait to rejoin! (still awaiting MB).
-
pah who needs perked pilots, I suck yes, but its more fun not knowing who ya fighting and stars or other indicators just gonna ruin the "wat the fluck" experience when you meet a p38 that fly's rings around ya nikki :)
Chow,
PS. leave it the way it is please

Excellent idea Thunder ... A handicap system!!
:D

i think we should combine this into a 'honor system handycap' / drinking game. just take a shot for every plane you kill. by the end of the night things should even out.

sheesh.... just goes ta show that the pocket protector types around here could f*ck up steel ball bearings with a rubber mallet.
If the Americans can build a gun with 20 parts and the Brits can build one with 30 and the french can build one with 50 then the anal dweebs here could build one with 1,000 parts... and of course... it wouldn't work but, it would be fun to argue over.

i'm ever amazed by the inability of some people to get the joke.
um.. you where kidding, right thunder???

Well there is a bit of truth in the fact that StSanta's butt is so big I mistake him for a buff! :D
