Title: Witnessed a crime today.
Post by: Estes on December 23, 2003, 05:07:53 PM
Don't tell anyone you did, buncha paperwork. :)  Said in jest of course.

While at work, I seen a man have a woman at gunpoint. Scared me, didn't know what to do so I called the police. Now, I have been sitting in the police station half the day doing paperwork.

But, it was all worth it having the young lady giving me a thanks.

Merry Christmas all.

-Edit- I found out it was a domestic dispute, there is a zero tolerance on domestic violence. Which of course is a good thing.-Edit-

Good work for getting involved. In Toronto there have been numerous shootings at night clubs witnessed by hundreds of people and no one comes forward.

WTG....I've had to report on witnessed crime before and its usually totally worth it.  You hear all the time about criminals getting off scot free because of lack up evidence.  Thats the way our justice system works i guess.

You know funny thing. They had a clip on the news yesterday of a club front door right after a shooting and the people all running out. You are 100% correct in your speculation. Lets just say all the people in the club seemed to have one thing in common.

Of couse it would be highly un-PC to even mention that so no newspaper or newscaster does. They all wonder why Torontonians are all so uncooperative while 90% of the citizens of this city would report a crime like that in an instant.

That's because they were all too busy running over the person infront of them, did you see the pace pickup when more shots were fired.:rofl :rofl :rofl.

Although the clip i saw showed relatively equal number of races bolting to safety.

I must not have seen the whole clip. I just saw the part when the lady with massive cans in the white suit almost gets knocked down and about 10 people after her all rush out.

with all of canadas gun laws how could people be shooting one another?   How did criminals get guns?

In early england it was a crime punishable by death to not stop a crime.    If you killed a criminal while he was commiting a crime it was ok, even looked favorably upon...

a rapist is a rapist... He is gonna continue to rape any way he can...best to have a gun and kill him and then fill out the paperwork.    Cops are busy.  either way they are gonna close the case... better they close the case cause the perp is dead or in the hospital awaiting trial than they close it for lack of anyone tracking the guy down for em and pointing him out.   Much better use of paper in the former.

but then... perhaps I am being cynical.

Prime example of why people shouldnt have guns.  No one said anything about rape except sudz.  And he was just asking a question. Perfect example of how "shoot first and ask questions later" is the reason people shouldnt have guns.

You don't think people should shoot rapists?   or... you don't think people should defend themselves with guns?
