PLEASE tell me this a joke.  For those that don't know...opening your MONITOR can GET YOU KILLED  .  Unlike many other electronics that like to say its dangerous, CRT monitors are VERY VERY dangerous.  Enough voltage/amprage is held (even after being unplugged for weeks months or occasionally years) in the capacitors to kill you instantly.  If you are not a high voltage electronics expert, or have at LEAST had some real hands on instruction on how to discharge a monitor, please please please, never open one up.  Its just not worth it.

Btw...video cards go into your CPU case.

Most Color moniters run at 40,000 Volts and I know from experince that their capacitors can hold high voltage charges for several years.

Short story, my eletronics teacher brought out an old moniter he used to demonstrate voltage arcs and capacitor charges. He said he hadn't done this in a few years and that it would take him a few minutes to get the moniter set up. While working to get the case set up he accidently dropped a screwdriver accross one of the capacitor leads. The entire head of the screwdriver melted in a matter of microseconds. Needless to say it was a very good lesson.

hehe, wait.  Video cards go inside the BOX and not in the monitor :D  Look for an AGP or PCI slot on your motherboard instead!

I figured it might be a troll, but I still wanted to kinda state the dangers of opening up the moniter.

Most modern electronics have bleeder resistors to keep caps discharged, but as stated if your not a tech its best to leave the smoke in the wires ! As to your video card being to long it sounds as if your Mother Board is to old to accept the newer AGP video cards and means you need a complete update of your computer system !

Simshell,

Quite honestly buddy you might want to invest the time and money in having someone who works on computers for a living to install this one for you.

BUT other than that how is the card to long? What size case do you have? (ie...full size, mid-size or micro AT [shudder], ATX again full, mid or Micro-ATX) Is your case a desktop case or tower? Several things we need to know here along with which motherboard/CPU you have and is it a store brand system (HP, Compaq, etc...) or is it a Dell, Gateway, etc...

i found out it does not have a AGP slot for the video card im looking into PCI cards right now and looking to buy one soon

and that was dumb about the monitor dont no what i was thinking but when
i open up the tower and think about it everthing was realy simple  were it went and everthing i dont need a expert anymore heck i learn some thing by opening and il never need a expert to
replace simple video cards now that i  know  and the install looks easy on my XP

but i think you guys should understand that i make 30$ a week just doing house work and going to my dads shop for a day

so i cant do these huge upgrades

like new mother boards

right now im just trying to keep my PC runing the new low end games

like aces high

im now looking for a PCI card

thats if it well work
