You've had your little irrelevant spiel. Time to let the next neo-con actually tackle the subject.

I'm a neo-con?

The answer to your question could be:

There was some misscomunication between the parties involved, it happends in all sorts of organizations and it's more likely to happend in interorganizational situations like this one.

OR:

Bremer simply misssed the super secret evil USA world domination neo-con conspiracy meeting (great meeting BTW, tons o fun)  where it was decided that Blair was to issue this false statement..

What ever happened to the Tri-Lateral Commission?

That's right Grunherz, because Blair and Bremer are some minor low-key minions (whose duties revolve around sweeping floors and making tea), locked away in some government building and have never ever given public speeches that have been broadcast around the world. Blair has never stood up in front of governments, foreign and domestic, and talked about WMD and even if he had, the contents of those speeches have never been made public nor have they been reported on by any form of media.

Does that satisfactorily down play the story?

I imagine because it's interesting and topical.  It is a pretty big political screw up to call your most important ally a liar.

"Thanks for your unwavering support in the face of major electoral dissent.  And now...a kick in the balls."

The fact that you even ask that reinforces his point.

Oh...I got that part...

It's just I can't see why Dowding hasn't caught on yet that critism, even from allies (the few there really are) will only attract streams of bombastic diatribe.
Remember...failure of objectives pale in comparison because "Hell...we got Saddam you commies"...not that it will save Blair anyways...

the beatings will continue until morale improves!

Didn't TB get the info on the bio and chem labs from a report put together for GWB and clan? Just who was called a liar, inadvertantly so, here?

Calling Tony Blair a liar is hardly something to brag about - hell half of the UK population calls him a liar on a daily basis!!

The American Administrator was merely being honest in answering a question - if it shortens Tony's grip on power - more power to his elbow I say.
