Title: [ALT] [S] to save screen
Post by: Mickey1992 on December 19, 1999, 05:04:00 PM
Is [ALT]  supposed to be working? I searched this BB and could not find a reference to it.

If I do a "save screen" [ALT]  it appears to save a ahssx.bmp file in my "Aces High" directory, but this file is not a valid .bmp file. At least that is what PSP tells me.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn "Mickey" McCormick

ive never had any problems with screen shots. Sounds like youve got a program that doesnt read bitmaps trying to open it. try opening paint then, select file, open then point it to the screen shot.

You are right, I can open the screenshots in MS Paint. I do not know why Paint Shop Pro 4 does not work.
I have never had any problems with PSP before so I wonder if there isn't something weird with the file.

Open it and save it with MSpaint.
Then try it with any other,, should work.

My MSphoto editor will not open them either unless saved 1st with MSpaint

I do it regularly by opening it up in MS Paint and then use the "copy" feature. I have Photoshop 5.5 opened and minimized and click it to open and use "new". Then I paste to Photoshop file and can save it as .psd file or flatten image and save it in whatever format is desired. This is nice if you want just a portion of the screenshot to send to your buddies. You can crop and or reduce to make file faster. Hope this helps.

Mickey it's the way AH (and WB) save them.

Get a more recent version of PSP (5 or 6) and you'll be able to open them OK.
