Title: What kind of Aces are you?

Me im a mossy ace 5 kills RTB all a2a.

9 in Seafire, crashed when landing on CV (ack baiting mostly)

8 in Fw-190A8 (field defense)

But the 6 in a Bf-109-G10 I am the most proud of, fair fights with that wonderful but impossible fighter.

Post by: mold on December 29, 2003, 08:58:58 AM: Daaaamn 34 kills a2a. Not too bad. Most I've landed so far is 4 kills in a g10. 'Course, I dont vultch. ;) Now I think I see where all these 10 kill sorties in the buffer are coming from. Had no idea vultching was so profitable. :D

I dropped a 500 kilo bomb on the spawning mob and killed 21 Lancs. :rofl I then nailed 6 fighters at the CV furball.

Most air to air: 18 in Hurricane IIC.

Landed 20 in a badly shot up P47D-11 (all a2a but having alt advantage, 2 rearms iirc .. talk about spray&pray lol :D )

Vulches shouldn't be recorded by the AH servers. Vulching is for base suppression; not bragging rights.

I honestly believe that GV kills belong in their own category, as well. Ground-to-air killing is turkey shooting, too -- just in the opposite direction as vulching.

Turn killshooter off when within 1 mile of an enemy airfield and I bet vulching would become a much more challenging sport. ;)

Post by: LWACE on December 29, 2003, 03:37:28 PM: My all time best is 11 in a G-10 with some vulches (most made it in the air:D ) but no rearm(gotta love that 30) and my most legit all air to air is 8 in a G-10 also did this in a G-6, 8 afew times in a 110 but mostly vulches.

11 with FM2 all air to air--kinda--had the wheels up.

Seafire with 7 kills(Vulcher)

Yup, I only either fly Marines/Navy fighter planes and sometime I use SBD-5 as a fighter plane which I landed the kills(5 or higher). :D

Post by: Kweassa on December 29, 2003, 11:13:37 PM: Personally, my most satisfactory 'ace' achievement was with the Bf109G-6, 7 kills, against a La-7, 3xSpit9, Spit5, N1K2, F6F-5. It isn't a very high score, but it was a real good flight.

FW-190A5, A8, P-38L, Bf-109E-4, F4,G2, G6, G10, F4u-1D,C, P-4D-11,25,30, P-51B,D, A6M5B.

Flown just about everything in AH though.

However, my favorite bird is the FW-190A8 and the P-38L. Then the 109s a close second.

Funny that I never flew the 190-D9 much.

Post by: Nod on January 02, 2004, 10:35:37 PM: 2 reloads in a 109g-6 and got 26 kills all air to air............but you have to remeber that it took me about 1 and a half hours total and i had to be extreamly choosey about the fights

Several times i've landed 5-7 in various rides without vulching. Usually when I get to about 4 a2a, I chicken out and run home.

Post by: Boozer on January 03, 2004, 09:12:13 AM: I've had a handful of sorties of 12-18 landed in P-47D-30 over the months, I get 2 or 3 of those each camp. Mostly buff hunts and intercepting porkers, usually 1 or 2 rearms to do it, rarely vultches.

well i deacked field in 1 pass few times in Yak 9U
edit .: (probably 2 times :P )

Yak 9U, P51B, P38, Typhoon, Tempest - between 23-25 kills in a sortie (and many rearms :P )

most kills on 1 ammo load..... probably yak 9U and 13 kills..... im not sure if i ever beat it in Tempest

.. and didnt fly for a year.. coz freaking job

My best landed sortie was 15 kills in a Pz4 once while defending a field from a huge GV assault. None of them spawnpoint vulches. I was flanking their route of approach and blindsided them as they drove by. Had to end it when I ran out of ammo because everybody was too busy shooting to have time to get an M3.

My highest-scoring "sortie" ever was in a twin 5" mount on a CV. I got 28 kills including a spit14 beyond icon range (he'd briefly been at about d4.8 so I knew what he was). But when you're not in any danger of dying yourself, and when it counts as a landing even though the ship sinks, it's kinda hard to be too proud of this :).
