There isnt anything out. I havent bought a game in a long time - in part because I have no time but primarily because the games on the shelf are all garbage.
What are you guys playing?
-
I am still playing steel panthers world at war.
Free download and fun as hell.
-
I'm battling thru MS Flight Simulator 2004. It doesnt like my X-45 throttle...all the docs specifically say Sidewinder everywhere...so Im thinking this PITA game is hardwired for those controllers.
Kinda funny to have full power in the 747, climb, and the thing goes to idle.
I do, however, have short field landings mastered :p
-
Silent Storm.
Knights of the Old Republic is next on the list - already have it. Deus Ex 2 will probably follow that.
-
NASCAR 2003 Season + TPTCC Mod
Civ 3
Madden
-
I got about a month or so off of freelancer before it got old, now I'm revisiting some old games, (hitman2, ofp)
-
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Very cool. Although the plot is neat, its nothing like the original. I'm not finished yet, but I think I'm close. Might want to replay the original Deus Ex for a refresher :)

Have you tried the Modern Battles - damned ai keeps kicking me all to hell...
-
still playing the original Il2 Sturmovik. Transitioning from AH to this one, it still appears as a new, innovative game.
-
Bought Ghost Recon Gold the other day and have it up for sale over at SimHQ. I just find that games in the FPS genre cause me to have massive headaches and nausea now so I stay away. If it isn't a flight sim or strategy game (Railroad Tycoon 3 for me and my son) I don't play them.
-
Frogger sucks pretty bad...
-
I just blew through Deus Ex: Invisible War. The lighting effects are awesome, but the game lacks substance, makes me wish for the original.
Finally got around to picking up Call of Duty and it's a blast so far. Next up I'm looking at Hidden and Dangerous 2, any opinions on that game would be appreciated.
-
Call of Duty
Any multiplayer options in this one? and if so, is it fun? or is DoD a better option still?
-
I blew through CoD... multiplayer is similar to MOHAA in a way. In the end, it's kind of boring.
Multiplayer WW2 FPS? I'd go with Red Orchestra.
-
personally i like strategy games like Risk II, Age of Empries, Civilization II, and Majesty. i really could care less about graphics
-

Its a mod right? What game do you need?
-
Unreal Tournament 2003... only $20.00 at the moment (I think).

-
Looks sweet...
Its the same number of players on the servers? up to 32?
Im thinking about giving WWIIOL a try, not for the flight sim part. but for the ground war...
-
Aces High.
Well, if there's some hot action available. BI and AKD are tough weeks for me. ;)
Rude's got some of us interested in America's Army. Free download, free play; lots of different maps and missions. Rounds last 10 minutes max, but can be very, very short if the objectives are completed quickly. Some are just a minute or two sometimes. Seven rounds to the match, then the match restarts. Various weaponry, terrains, day, night, sandstorms.. lots of variety.
It ain't flying but it is FIGHTING; LOTS and LOTS of FIGHTING. ;)
Once you get the hang of living for a while and start killing what you shoot at... it can be fun.
But a good air-to-air fight in AH beats the best match in AA..... IMO.
OTOH, every round in AA guarantees fast action which is something often hard to find ...... well, you know.
-
Rainbow Six III - fun
Call of Duty - fun & nice to look at
CMBB - CMBO - fun
Homeworld II - ok
Korea Forgotten conflict - fun
Deus Ex II - cr*p
Lomac - waiting on my shelve to be patched
Max Payne 2 - fun
XIII - fun
Commandos 3 - fun
Terminator 3 - cr*p cr*p cr*p cr*p
Squad assault - on the shelve waiting...
Has anyone tried Secret Weapons over Normandy yet???
-
Been playing Medieval Total War and Planetside on computer, and NCAA 2004 on my PS2.
-
Call Of Duty. Octavius is right, it doesn't blow me away like MOH did.
Running through Half Life again.
Forgotten battles occasionally. Grand Theft Auto Vice City sometimes.
Halo demo on LAN with my son.
Don't really have time for anything but Aces High. All of the above are played kind of on and off.
-
When I'm not in Aces High, I'm in There (http://www.there.com/), often running around or in a buggy, on a hover-bike or more recently a hover-boat. Only problem is they don't have guns..... :) Though there is paint-balling too...... otherwise going to one of the many events or just joining a chat..... :D
The 'other' Flossy:

Out of sheer boredom I reinstalled BF1942 and downloaded about a gig of patched and Desert Combat updates.
Theyve done alot of work to that mod in the past 9 months since I last played it - still a ****load of fun.
PS: Ditto on Deux Ex II being crap. I downloaded the demo and was disapointed.
-
Star Wars KotoR is fun, but the no MP support means it's not going to stay on the hard drive for too long.
-

What modern battles?
My version only has gear and dates to 1950? is there a modern addon?
-
CoD is awesome.... I played it as the highest difficulty level from the start (i recommend doing that as you may breeze through it too quick otherwise)
The soviet missions and pegasus bridge missions are worth the game's money alone imo.

I played around with MSFS 2K2 and 2K4. Neither one of them worked with the Sidewinder Precision 2. I pitched them and went back to FS2K.

1946 to 2020 - let me know if you'd like a game - it's called SPMBT free download and is a lot more fun than WW2.
-
If I'm not in AH, I'm having a great time with the ground war in WW2OL. I'm also giving Warbirds another try.
-
trying to install neverwinter nights gold for my son..
arghhhhh
-
Heck, I'm not playing anything. When i'm messing around, it's Operation Flashpoint.
Currently I'm making Willy Pete. I got the airburst, the bright, smoky bits flying everywhere and hurting people. now I'm gonna fold in the secondary fire effects.
should work in MP too, but the fuzing system probly needs tweakin'.
oh yeah, and I slapped together a mortar control system last week.

Did some pc upgrading last week, so I'm back to playing Jedi Knight Academy, and will probably reinstall one of the later MechWarrior games soon.

Schadenfreude
Thanks for the link, I will check it out ASAP, lol I had loaded Steel panthers 2 but it does not run well on my laptop.
-
Call Of Duty rocks, I got It for Christmas and it is the bets FPS I have ever seen.
If you dont get it, you won't have it.
It will leave you sweeting and shaking, I swear it.
-
Aces High is still the greatest, but I really like flying around in gorgeous external views too, so I've also been enjoying MS Flight Simulator 2004, X-Plane, and Fighter Ace.
-
ive been playing 18 wheels of steel across america...it has a few bugs (the most annoying being the occasional lock up of steering... ) but can be quite fun once you patch it up to 1.10 (the out of box versions low end trucks can't get up most hills due to power issues)
and of course i have been playing americas army (took me 40 minutes to download :D ) wich can be quite fun...

I have it.It's a straight X-Box port.
No view system(only dead six),flight model is pure arcade. No online either.I wish I'd have saved my money.

question about BF1942...
i hear you all talk about it.. buddy's wife watched him play CoD and thought he'd like another WWII game for Christams.
she bought him BF1942 with some special edition stuff.
he has carp aol dial-up and never played anything online.
should he bother to try and play this online?
should he bother trying to learn to fly without a JS? (he doesn't own one)
ty in advance. id have him post but he actually is computer illiterate except for games. trying to teach him though lol he keeps wondering where the "return" key is (ala the old apple's we used in grade school).
-
A dial up modem and online FPS's dont mix. He will be frustrated beyond belief.

Still no regular AH :(
-
Sorry Sirloin, havn't read this thread for a while! No I don't have the crack. Why don't you go out and buy another copy. It only costs about $6! :D
-
I can highly recommend Hidden & Dangerous 2. I've really been enjoying this game.
Also, banana sucked me into WWIIOL. Really enjoying the ground battles.
Red Orchestra is also a great WWII game.
-
B17Skull12,
X-Plane does sux indeed.

I have to disagree with Oct. on this one. I ignored the reviews and bought DEx2 hoping for the best. The graphics, etc. are somewhat improved but it lacks the two elements that made the original great - scope and atmosphere.
The maps are tiny -- smaller than some of the mansions in the original - and have a generic feel about them. I hear that's because its a straight X-Box port. The plot is also less interesting, the characters less interesting, the settings don't really have a feel about them (tiny maps with no real vistas, etc.) Great console game though, but only average to less than average by PC FPS or RPG standards.
Warren Spector really sold out on this one, IMO. Cashing in the the console market with the brand name, but ignoring the fact that the X-Box can't replicate the elements that made Deus Ex unique.
I'm working to finish the Desu Ex 2 and playing a lot of the new Playstation I got for X-Mas. My wife actually got addicted to "The Simpsons - Hit and Run" and we play that together (switching off) from time to time.
Charon
-
Some Nascar3 and 4.
Would love to see EA rerelease an updated Chuck Yeagers Combat Flight Simulator and Flight of the Intruder. FOTI had potential, but no terrain. CYCFS had a lot of plane choices and I liked its scenario generator.
-
Been getting into IL2 Forgotten Battles a bit.
-
Mediaval Total War... talk about addiction...
Can't wait for Rome Total War.
Other then that:
Call of Duty MP to blow off steam.
Lock On Modern Combat - playing around with it, campaigns are tad lacking and my rig tad too slow for that one.
-
Day of Defeat,
No shooter can beat it... it STILL holds water :D
-
I just picked up Black Hawk Down and the expansion. Having fun with that game online. Nice change from the WW2 game flood.
or the most addicting game ever.
