...new version this week? My brother will be down for the holidays and I'm trying to convince him that Aces High is gonna be kick butt when the rough edges are ironed out. I read in a previous post somewhere that HT had been working on smoke, glycol leaks etc. This would be a big selling point for him (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Not trying to rush ya or anything like that, just wondering if you fellas would be working this week and whether you would be able to roll out the new version.

I had some heavy hits on a 51 last night and it looked like it started to smoke. On zoom I could see his engine burning on the sides.
The smoke did not follow his plane but a long streak of it sort of hung there above me. ...I thought at first that it was some artifact of him firing his guns. But I had not seen him fire his guns at that time. I ended up getting an assist for it as a country man "helped" me as the 51 was coasting to earth.
Maybe there is smoke under some circumstances?

Pyro had allready stated that there would be no more updates this week.. Think i seen it in the Annoncements area..
There is no smoke ,only flames Pongo. They are trying to get smoke for fuel,oil & such in the next update.
I think that HT & the boys are doing a fantastic job & deserve a few days off with family over the holidays..

er, wardog, I may be just a southern boy from Alabama, but as far as I know, the 16th of this month, ie. last Thursday,(the date pyro made that announcement) was LAST week. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
If you reread my post you will see that it was just a question, not a suggestion. If they take off the whole week it would be cool with me, I'm sure they been working their cans off, programming and all, and would like a break.

There won't be a new version this week. The changes in the flight modeling are big enough that we can't piecemeal it in a plane at a time. On the plus side, I'm pretty pleased with the way things are coming out in that area.

BTW I have some new top speeds on some of the aircraft modeled in the game. They may be of use as you are working on flight modeling (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). These speeds are at all altitudes BTW. I'll list the user who gave me the info, the plane, then the top speed..

"Ya got p51 dead on". Pleeeeeeeease. It will do 800ias and deploy flaps at that speed. I flew one. Shot down 4 planes and never had to touch the trim buttons. Try that in the artificially unstable FW

It is a well documented fact that the FW was a remarkably stable and easy to fly aircraft.
For example, take the famous case of Klouse Wierderman. While working as a janetor in a, aaaah, hotel for ladys. Klouse left his place of employment on the 13 of june 1944. He looked up an saw a FW 190 at a distance of no more than five thousend feet. Klouse was heard to remark, and I quote, "boy that thing looks stable".
Now how can you argue with that. This is an eyewitness account, by someone who was there. And let me add that I got this directly from my brother. Who works with a guy, that actully met the brother in law of Klouse,s next door nabor. What does it take people!
HTC, in there lust for power, have obviously arbitrarily designed an FM that will pander to the mindless American throng. Who will no doubt supply the brunt of the vast, financial uderpinnings of the evergrowing, HTC impire.
