Whew, thought this was going to be about jamming his thumb somewhere that the sun doesn't shine.
-
He just lost me as an admirer. He's right up there with Michael Jackson now.
-
Its a different culture, there in Australia. I have heard its quite normal there, in the land of the lost.
People ride kangaroos ('roos' as they call them), the mail is delivered via boomerang, and babies are fed tree bark, rocks, and Foster's.
-
dont let a dingo eat your baby
-
Krikey .. this'll really piss-em off.
-
And he just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich.
-

-

The kid was already a month old, and he was just finally getting around to his first feeding? C'mon people, how long should he have waited?
-
If my baby looked that ugly I'd have fed the baby to the Croc and raised the chicken as my son.

We all get 'stupid' once in a while. The 'trick' is to avoid doing it on camera.
I've always liked his TV show and I'll probablity still watch it but it would be nice if he'd make some kind of 'statement' about just where his brain was that afternoon.

I mentioned in another post...I have a good friend whos wife is from Australia. They visit family there couple times a year..anyway, the general consesus for years among alot of Australians, at least this group that he knows, think that Steve is basically nuts. Not as in "daring, adventurer" nuts, but loco, crazy.
I think this confirms it.
-
The Wild boyz are crazier than Steve Irwin.

what exactly could he say that wouldn't just make it worse?
it's one of those things that "seemed like the thing to do at the time." is about the only honest explaination you could use.
-
well latest news say, that he wanted to gave him content of left hand instead of right.... (but he still make some mistakes in reconize left and right side)

what a moron
-
That guy just gained all my respect. How cool is that? That's so cool what he did and everyone seems envious of the guy.
That would be cool if he held the kid's face next to a deadly snake next time or maybe put a black widow on his head. I see a bright future for this kid.

The guy definately goofed but I dont think Irwins infant was ever in any danger. I mean the guy is a pro croc hunter fer toejams sake.
On the other hand, jackson barely qualifies as a human being
and his offspring are suspect as well.
The contention that irwin is somehow equivalent to jackson is purely assanine.

Well, he makes his living doing "dangerous" stuff. If it is dangerous he has no business risking his infant son's life. If it isn't dangerous then why would he do it on television? Publicity maybe? The same reason Jackson held his son over the balcony?
IMO the stunt Jackson pulled was less dangerous than what Irwin did. Too many snake bites I guess.
Look, before he did this I really liked the guy.
Feeding wild crocodiles is risky, even for him. He's been badly bitten before. He was taking a chance that croc wouldn't decide he wanted to bite the hand feeding him. If the croc had what could he have done? It was a foolish risk and showed very poor judgement. I have little respect for people that let their toddlers stand up while riding in the car too, go figure.
-
I always thought he was "nutz" but could I couldnt belive he'd excercise such poor judgement with a baby.
-
Im not the best spellar. I have a dictionary right here gscholz but I could not be bothered on this particular bbs.
I just dont see a comparative level of harm based on the person responsible. Jackson is a freak. Irwin is not.
