Are there any J-sticks out there right now FY 2004 that matches or surpasses Sidewinder's durability and reliability?

Post by: bockko on January 04, 2004, 11:19:30 PM: you can still get microsoft sticks, try the net, or best buy etc. For the money, try the saitek sticks -- the cyborg is ok, but not as ergonomic as the ms sticks. the saitek x45 i like better than ms sticks when used with rudder pedals (the x45 rudder I didn't like; bought ch pro pedals..great setup). Thrustmaster makes a few usable sticks, not sure how durable; ch pro makes the best, but quite pricey. So in a nutshell, there are other sticks, but you can still score ms stuff, but not sure if they are supported in xp.

my thrustmaster stick is 4 or 5 years old, the one before that lasted 2

the saitek looked good but they where just to small for my hands

Post by: Mini D on January 05, 2004, 06:09:05 PM: I've not had a logitech last more than 2 months. I still have my first Sidewinder joystick that I bought in 98 and it still works great.

I like the TM stuff better, though reliability has not been it's dominant feature IMO. I just had to replace the pot in my COUGAR throttle twice. Still... there isn't another joystick I'd rather own.

Post by: Sox62 on January 06, 2004, 12:33:32 PM: I've been using the CH Combatstick for almost ten years now.First stick lasted about 5-6 years,second stick was working fine,but I gave it away last year when I upgraded to USB CH gear.
