Since Wednesday, we've received 9 inches of snow. Its currently 19 deg. outside and theres a Canadian cold front parked over Western Washington. The "Hawaiin Express" is on the way and supposed to hit tonight. Translated: 6-12" snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
The Bimmers been parked for 2 weeks now :(
*sigh*

Quit yer whining. On the way home this morning i heard on the radio it could hit -46 C here today (-50 F give or take). 6 months ago it was 46 degrees on the positive side. You got it pretty good rip, suck it up buttercup.
-
Dangit... dipping down to the low 70's here.
-
Raining here.
Thats all it ever does.
Rain.
I hate rain.
-
I want my 45 deg. and raining weather back! (you don't have to shovel the rain....)

East coast blues. The Limeys must have found a way to send their lousy weather over here.

Rip you have a 12 hp track driven snowblower, admit it. Besides, maybe the snow will knock down some power lines and you can actually fire up the generator.
-
Got down at -15 F here last night, was -5 F on the way into work this morning.
I had to actually put a long sleeve shirt on today!

I never shovelled snow when I lived in Canada. If ice developed in the driveway or walkway I'd throw down some salt...otherwise it would just stay there until it melted.
Shoveling snow is a quick way to give yourself a heart attack.
Why do it when it will go away on its own?
-
pretty ok wheater here only -15c and no wind, if i dress properly I can still play soccer outside :D (need the ground shoveledfor snow tough)
Can even take a good bath before the lake is totally frozen down, there is still some holes to dip in. hahaha

3 inches of rain over the weekend and my sump pump has run almost non stop. I will take snow any day, especially since it is supposed to get down to 20F tomorrow night and all of this crap is going to freeze. Just gotta hope my sump pump line to the curb doesn't freeze.

Im reminded of Lewis Black's CD recorded in MN.
"They say Minestota is beautiful in the summer... well... yeah... cause you can feel your ****ing fingers and toes. /// Thats not weather... thats an emergency condition... and if you had any brains at all, youd call the Federal government and say 'get us the **** out of here.'"
-
about 1 inch of snow here...but its resting comfortably at -30c and is probably gonna hit -40 soon...unless a chinook blows in

LOL, you know me all too well. I appear to be the only one locally with a generator. When we do lose power up here, I make sure my porch lights are on, its my way of saying "Neener Neener" to the neighbors. :D

I speaking of the low lying areas. Just 15 miles west of me, and 3000 ft higher, we've already had 108 inches since November.

My mistake... I meant High 70's... might need a sweater.
:p
-

It's cold here, well cold compared to what I'm use to. 24 degrees, feels like 18. I hate the cold weather. No snow though, can't complain too much.

We only got 3 inches in that same time in University Place Rip. You're about 20-25 miles from me, so that translates into about 3 inches per 10 miles. The nice thing about tonight's snowstorm is that it's supposed to warm up late tomorrow and turn all that snow into a big sea of slush.

Started the glider Club in Edmonton, did a bunch of soaring &
glider towing.
Spring is just around the corner, what the heck 3 months summer
isn't bad:confused:

-

Took me a half hour to chip the ice off my car last night enough to see. Same for that morning. Would rather have had snow, it just brushes off.
Makes me wish those rear defroster things imbedded in the back window were everwhere on the car. That'd be cool.
-
and here I was thinking I was glad it was only 24 deg. (75 deg F for you philistines) today....
At christmas it was 39.50 deg (103 deg F) and has been holding pretty much at the 30 mark since...

I've said this before... when its 38 deg. and raining, its much colder than 25 deg. and snowing. The moisture chills you right through your clothes and into your bones...Brrrrr!
-
very true.
when the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing it feels
almost like t-shirt weather in the 20's.
I lived in Kent, Washington for a while.. woah..
wet-cold was too cold

There is a quote in a book written by an expat which she wrote as a guide for incoming expats moving to the island. In it she has a quote from a Canadian Air Force officer who had been through all of the Arctic training and who lived in the remote North.
"The coldest I have ever been was in February...in Bermuda".
Only very new homes here have central heating here and as each house is made out of concrete block the moisture levels are really bad. It is always a few degree colder inside than out.

I was skiing at A-Basin in June, 38 deg. and sunny, with just a T-shirt on ( back in the 80's. ) I took two runs, and was sunburned really bad..I'd forgotten that at 12,000 feet, theres even less atmosphere to protect you from the ultra violet rays of the Sun, combined with the reflection off the snow...ouch!

Well Rip, how much snow did you get today? We had about two inches in University Place when I got up this morning and it was still snowing hard. I made it all the way into work in about an hour. Not a whole lot in South Seattle, but it snowed hard all the way in. Come on up and ride the simulators(lol).
:aok
-
Which reminds me, I'm off on a snow boarding trip for a couple weeks. Cya later...
