Well, This seems to be an appropriate post after todays illegal immigrant news. Me thinks were going to needs the jobs the illegals are doing.
Sounds like the firms are getting a bit upset that the goverment is being press to put an end to this. I wonder why?

This sums it up about right.
The problem is not a lack of highly educated workers," said Scott Kirwin, founder of the Information Technology Professionals Association of America. "The problem is a lack of highly educated workers willing to work for the minimum wage or lower in the U.S. Costs are driving outsourcing, not the quality of American schools."

Not really related to the illegal thread, because most illegals are from Mexico and work bellybutton end jobs such as scrubbing toilets or jerking off the homeless for a few extra quarters.
Now, if the majority of illegals were from Asia or the Mid-East - then this thread could potentially be linked to the other thread about illegals.
But as of yet, it seems the only illegals from the mid-east seem to want to run planes into buildings - not work bellybutton end jobs.

btw, terrorist who hit WTC was not illegals
i doubt any of illegails like to destroy anything in this country

I thought they had fake green cards?

neg all have valid permission to enter US , given them by US ambassady in Saudi Arabia
never heard? its official since 2 years
-
So, anyone from the mid-east has had the Saudi Arabian's ambassador's (from the embassy) permission to enter the US with a VISA?
I see how that can work, and in only two years they received enough piloting abilities (through small/private businesses that train pilots) to guide an airliner into something? I see how that works.
So basically, all terrorists that flew into the WTC towers and the Pentagon were legal (although I heard otherwise for a couple of the terrorists)?
That sucks, but still....

would you risk with fake documents planning such action? ;)
Visas to enter US is given by U.S ambassady (US ambassador or consul) in any foregin country ( or not, mostly not ;-) )
anyway, if they travel to US before, they must have valid and legal documents to be there. If not , noone will let them pass gate at airfield.
No matter now what kind of vise that was (turist, student, bussines). But was confirmend by U.S gov ( or workers of goverment, such as imigration office )
Somone can be let in or not to US is decided by immigration office at airport wher eyou arrive. From country you fly to U.S mostly noone chk too deep you will get perrmission to cross border or not. Enough is you have valid visa given by ambassady or agreement between countrys let you enter plane travelling to US (like GB, Germany......)
When you arrive, guy on airfield decide , he let you in or not.
So if they not plan to land, noone can chk them to deep.
So, practical if they not land they cannot be illegals, cuz they not cross US border. (as i remember aircrafts are not exteritoriall)
but US gov will never tell you , what was true. And best explanation was they where illegals, cuz they get this documents using lie about they travel target (somone must be dumb to tell truth " we going to US to hit WTC " ;-)
thats all

NO NO No. All entered in from Canada Illegally.
Moo.

Hmmmm I see Scott Kirwin, founder of the Information Technology Professionals Association of America. May be wrong in his belief that there are many highly educated people in the US.
-
its true , but noone of them willl like to work for 10$ per hour, 12/24, 6/7
without insurance..............
and special noone will like cut grass, or doing hand laundry
most of people doing hi-tech job was hired by big companies who not like to pay too much wages for US employers.
and US specialists wil not work only for home and food ;)
Illegals are doing mostly simple works (secial from south)

When I pick up the phone to call tech support or order a service I always ask, "BTW where are you guys located." If it aint in the USA, I hang up the phone. If this gets me in trouble for saying it, well I dont care.

and all you dish lovers are supporting it .. you call for service and end up in India and the like ...

Uhmm Eagler, the few times I called DiSH (usually for PPV event) it's always been a pleasant experience. Quick to answer (even on Christmas day) and just as quick to get it taken care of. Never gotten a hold of anyone that was not from America.
Calling the local cable company was an exercise in pain. You had to be masochistic to even want to call them. Most people would rather wait to see if the problem cured itself than call them.
-
Skuzzy 24h duty???? or HT force you to get overtimes? ;)
.
-
Skuzzy, you just hate ur cable co ever since they trapped ur free Playboy channel :)
there seems to be hope from the service end anyway:

Eagler,
Ever buy anything at Walmart, K-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, etc.
If so, then you have supported moving US jobs overseas.

Its been so long since I've seen anything that had a made in america stamp on it.. Good gawd.. my father's brand new GMC was built in Canada... I think Honda and Toyota are the only manufacturers that build cars/trucks in america anymore.. hehe How ironic..

Earthlink has announced they're laying off 3100 people and shutting down more call centers in favor of outsourced customer support.
