Iraq had ended its weapons of mass destruction programs by the mid-1990s and did not pose an immediate threat to the United States before the war,
Bush administration officials likely pushed U.S. intelligence assessors to conform with its view the country posed an impending danger, said one of the authors of the study.
We found nothing," Cirincione said. "There are no large stockpiles of weapons. There hasn't actually been a find of a single weapon, a single weapons agent, nothing like the programs that the

Funny nickname.
I'll better spell it as "nahooy".
With such a nickname why are you surprised that they always lie?...

So nakhui did you get previously banned or did you decide to take a new identity because you had exceeded your own limit of embarrasement?
And oh yeah....Bush is the Devil. Bush lies, cheats, kills and steals taxpayers children to die for him in an unjust war so that he may gain personal wealth, or at least Cheney does. Correct?
-
Despite their assertions, they have zero evidence (files, photos, documents) that substantiates the claims from the "Carnegie Endowment for International Peace -- a nonpartisan, respected group that opposed the war in Iraq." Also lacking was detail concerning which WMD's were destroyed and when. Also, consider the sources - two entities with agendas that opposed any action in Iraq.

Nope, no WMD, but from a tactical point of view, militaristically speaking, it was a brilliant move to take Iraq in the war against terrorism. Think of it as a "Neighborhood Block Watch" on countries like Syria, Iran, and dare I say...Saudi Arabia..
WTG Bush, brilliant stategist he is!

"Nakhui" is a very sophisticated Russian national folklore spell, used in many cases, one of the meanings expresses the desire to abandon or get rid of something, or to show that the subject isn't worth the attention. ;)
As far as I know the only Russian banned here so far was -am-, and he didn't have such language skills...

Um... you cant prove that he lied, but thats besides the point.
If Bush lied (you guys love that word dont you) then so did all these fine individuals.
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.
"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.
"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weap ons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002.

It's odd the way so many people are searching for WMD in Iraq on the internet.

and those of you that only see partisan here could use a dose of education.
This is not Partisan bias.
I couldn't care less about Democrats, Republicans, libs or conserves.
Bush's Administration stove piped the "intelligence" to suit their point view - rather than gathering the facts and then analyzing the facts and letting the facts speak for them selves.
This is common knowledge among the intel community. Whispered in hushed voices in the hall ways.
Bush took an opinion and then tried to discover facts to support that point of view.
This story actually broke yesterday. I've known about it for a few months now - while it was being written.
More will follow in the up coming weeks.
Evidence for you blind and uneducated people... "official" government documents, transcripts of interviews with intel analysists. A time line of mistakes... clearly drawn... miscalulations and errors in judgement.
The Congressional Intelligence Committee also has a report coming out soon with their findings based upon their investigation into this matter and intel around 9/11.
This is not partisan... this is not some op-ed.
There are honest people trying to get to the truth of what did the US gov know, when did it know it... and why the intelligence system broke down.
These reviews and scrutinities are part of the governments quality control processes so that the next time there is a national security crisis... an accurate accessment of the situation can be made.

Am I supose to be intimidated because you want me to STFU?
That's rather hostile, because I didn't say any one was evil.
You're being rather absurd.
Read the article.
I'm amazed at all the Bush zealots on this board who are absolutely blind to any discussion on this issue.
Reaonsable and intelligent people are looking into this matter and they are finding Iraq had no WMD.
And that begs the question, why was the Bush Administration so adamantly convinced there was?
The military intelligence just wasn't there to support their point of view.
-
Its not about Bush to me. I thought the US should have marched to Baghdad back in 91. Im pleased it has finally happened, Bush or not.

Perhaps you did not read the actual report by the Carnegie Endowment. They have files, photos, and documents. All of these sources obtained from the US Governement. Such as declassified intel reports that were given to the White House... and transcripts of interviews with US Government intel analysists.
There are congressmen, not democrats, but republicans, who were for the war, voted for the war, support Bush, and are now asking questions why WMD have not been found - does that mean they are biased?
No they are just searching for what went wrong with the Military intelligence.... why isn't it as accurate as the Bush Administration lead everyone to believe.
Here's the actual report:

Yes, and that is the problem. They justify their conclusions from the same sources that they refute. They do not have access to the classified files that did or do document WMD existance in Iraq. Where is this group's evidence any kind of weapon destruction? It does not appear that the Carnegie group ever went to Iraq to conduct an investigation. Its just three people using news clips, public testimonials, and selected reports (and probably the internet) to draw a conclusion.
Again, the report's authors do not have any files, facts, or photos from Iraq that justify and prove their findings that any weapons were destroyed. When I viewed this report, I took it for what it was - an opinion from an organization with a focused agenda.

I think they gave up long ago in finding WMD's. And now just hoping that over time everyone will forget the main selling point to the public for the war.
Unfortunetly for Blair it's going to cost him his job come election time, not sure about Bush though.

Hey Eagler i love ur posts. They are always concise significant and even a little bit sophisticated.
BTW:
Did u knew that u cant turn everything into black and white and did u knew that people can have different point of views without hating each other?

David Kay quit the investigation and the whole WMD search has been largely de-funded. I guess Kay's earlier report WAS smoke and mirrors after all.

I have several friends who married American women. One of my classmates lived in Houston for almost ten years with his American wife and finally sold his house etc and came back to Moscow with his family. His second child was born here.

Another way to pronounce your name is just "nakh". It's an indefinite article, second most popular after "blya". In plain words it's used to connect words in a sentence by some major social groups.
You blya are a funny guy nakh. Keep on nakh posting things like blya what you nakh did, yobanarot.

No WMDs in Iraq?
Well we had to find out didnt we :D
There is an old saying among wise people: Better safe than sorry.
I always thought part of the reason for putting so much emphasis on the Iraq WMDs was to use the threat posed by their being provided to terrorists as a political weapon to force the pro saddam westerners to the side while the real deal went down.
It worked.
Russian women can be very attractive but their teeth are usually a disaster. American women moving to Russia? Egads! Why would ANYONE want to live in Russia :aok

I wonder if there really ever was WMD in Iraq? I know, lets ask the Kurds.

It's just like accusing NATO of violating an embargo on weapon delivery to Yugoslavia in 1999.
I bet there are WMD in Iraq now.

he was the least "Party faithfull" so he got the easy set that press conference was a huge load of whooey he supposedy complained about it at the time. they turn on each other like dogs was just his turn . think about it they all have to be so full of crap to just be in the position of higher ranking repulican. a water gate senerio of internal betrayal is just a matter of time.
the whole party line is literaly psichotic full of circular arguments and bul**** allusions to god and patriotism. lots of plays on the well inforced dogma of the church. ( how about a partial birth abortion law that is obviously unconstitutional on the face of it and will be struck down, but not till after the election year.... get a grip they are lieing to you)
reagan ran a cocain cartell in south america he only avoided prosecution because of his own vps pardon.

I find the whole "haven't found any weapons of mass destruction yet" subject to be very humorous. It should be easier than this... right? I mean... it's not like they'd be as easy to find as say... shoulder fired missiles.

I am generally satisfied overall with the current version of America -with some reservations.
I didnt care for Clintons america thats for sure, although I wouldnt say that I had reached the level of hatred you seem to feel towards america today.

Some information was recently declassified about the Nixon Administration.
The top-secret document reveals that the United States, under President Richard Nixon, was prepared to act more aggressively than previously had been thought to secure America's oil supply if tensions between Israel and its Arab neighbors continued to escalate after the October 1973 Middle East war or if the oil embargo did not abate.
In fact, the embargo did peter out, by March 1974.

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2004/jan2004/1973-j06_prn.shtml
I suspect, some of you will believe there's WMD in Iraq, regardless of what the current governement investigations find
Even if Kay comes out and says... ooops we made a mistake.
The present facts are...
The people who said they exist have not yet found them....
Doesn't mean they are lying...
Doesn't mean they are telling the truth either.
That's just what the facts are.
The US government (all governments) are always doing more than what the people really know. Doesn't mean the government is evil.
There are things... the people shouldn't know... for their own good.
U2 and SR-71 flights over Russia were denied by the US Government until Gary Powers was shot down in 1960...
And the CIA was operating in Laos... and Iran... and chile... and El Salvado... selling arms to terrorist to support freedom fighters...
oh the list goes on...
Perhaps there weren't WMD in Iraq....
Bad military intelligence.. perhaps...
and then... is it just possible... that the answer is perhaps the US had to deal with a 'security' problem.... or there are some other reason... not openly known to everyone...
I realize many of you don't want to think this - it doesn't fit into your mental box of what reality is...
You only believe what you've been told.... until it become common knowledge... and conventional wisdom....
What woud have people thought if Churchill announced the day after Germans bombed and killed 10,000 citizens... that Churchil knew about the raid... could have called for an evacuation... but he didn't want the Germans to suspect the Allies had the enigma machine and were intercepting Hitler's communications?
10,000 dead to save a secret.. that ultimately... probably saved 100 of thounsands lives and years of war.
Did any one ever suspect Nixon was planning on seizing oil fileds in 1973?
Well he was.
I'm not talking conspiracy theory... this is how it is.
Is the middle east a better place now?
Are the US national interests in a better place now?
Is America safer?
