It says on the website you can lease a "2004" stang for 5 dollars a day 150 a month. I'm assuming the GT will be close.. (bursts into laughter, echoing through this thread):D

I'm hoping that they change the interior dimensions. I test drove a Cobra SVT (A Mustang on steroids) and their was no head room, my head actually rested on the roof window frame, if you were ever T-boned while driving like that you'd be dead instantly. Also, being 6' 1", when I put the seat in a position where I could comfortably shift the car, the back of the seat touched the seat in back...in other words, no leg room whatsoever for more than 2 passengers. They may have just as well made it a two-seater.
-
Anybody see the new Shelby Cobra they prototyped for this years car shows? IT was on that new show "Rides" with Jason Preistly a few nights ago.
pretty sweet car.

basically what ripsnort meant to say was 'its not a bmw'

The Cobra was my first choice, I posted this many times. I had down money on one before I went and test drove a 3-series.... Unfortuantely the Cobra didn't accomodate the following:
Gas milege
backseat requirement
Interior that was comfortable.
Now, if they address #2 and #3, I would trade my reliable transportation in for some real fun. I'm not concerned about #1 anymore, as I only go into work 3 days a week now.
However, you're statement is partially true...Ford will never meet, or beat BMW quality and craftsmanship, but I'd be willing to sacrifice the aforementioned for alittle extra HP at less expense.

Your specs are wrong.
That may be a cobra or something.
Hotrod had the specs listed this month I can post them later.
The motor was a new all aluminum 4.8 liter with 3 valves per and it was mated to the same 5 speed as before. No super charger or turbo.
The Chasis is all new. this is not based on the old Fox chasis.
Hotrod implied the GT would only be a little more then the current. So for the GT somewhere between 24k to 30k.

Awsome car BTW.
I am trying to convince the GF that we need one... lol.
-
yeah, 500-500 is a bit much for just a GT
-
Hes quoting specs for the Ford GT not the Mustang GT.
I believe the Mustang GT will use a normally aspirated 4.7L pumping out around 300 HP. The SVT version will probably be supercharged.
I may be off by a litre or two and the BHP, but for the most part thats what youre looking at.
Definately a big improvement over the fox. If straightline speed is your thing the current SVT Mustang is where its at.

Well GTO just saved me $5.95 lol
Might be some copyright issues there...
-
Lepaul
I stole it from another site... so.....
Hmmm
I do own a copy though.

It looks badass. Hopefully the interiors wont be crap like the current ones. Man those mustangs have crappy interiors. Worse than the worse rice.
-

Ummmm.. Buddy I copy and pasted from the ford website here
So unless this is a lie im right.
-
grr here GT Specs (http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/specs.asp)
Directly from the ford website.
-
And just to not create any more confusion im not talking about the mustang. It is a completly different car here is the pic.
Ford GT Pic (http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/home.asp?bhcp=1)
All this is directly from their website. The confusion came around because this is NOT a "Ford GT Mustang". It is just a "Ford GT". Check it out:p
-
Would someone be so kind and send me one of these Mustang to Germany? I assure I'll pay as soon as the car arrives. Trust me ;)
-
LOL
GTORA2 is never wrong....
Keep that in mind in the future or your Xterra may tip over..
It may anyway, but might not be me.
-
LOL I'm just saying unless Ford is lieing to its customers, which could be who knows, this website is right hehe. And if my math is right, my tires are wid enough so it wont tip, althought possible hehe. But anyone that was bright enough to figure out that when you have a car that high, you dont drive very fast. But you prob knew that...right? :lol :rofl
-
Now that the Camaro/Firebird is discontinued, I bet Ford will sell a lot to prior Chevy owners.
-
This new Mustang is the best looking of all. My previous favorite were the 65-70 fastback types. The new one overall similar looking, but better. Better handling (it better be, lol), probably faster in the 1/4 mi.
Would be interesting to see an '05 SVT/GT/Mach1 compared to a '69 428SQJ (fitted with modern tires) in a drag race. No comparo to a road race though (35 year tech diff).
-
I wonder if they'll have the retro paint option of blue racing stripes on white, like on the early-mid GT350's. That would be cool looking :)
-
btw, (http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/rides/photo/gallery/season1/shelby_hzoom02.jpg)

-
