Title: "Britain Alone, 1940" Frame 1 score
Post by: Squire on January 10, 2004, 06:53:22 PM
It was an RAF victory.

That being said I had to adjust the value of the ground targets and made them worth 200 points each max. So here is the breakdown:

RAF Fighters lost: 55 to all causes. 550 points.
British targets hit: P105 90 percent, V70 90 percent, A40 10 percent, A68 no damage for 380 points.

Total LW points: 930

LW Fighters lost: Single engined 60, twin engined 12, and 17 dive bombers for 1180 points.

Total RAF points: 1180

***This is still a battle either side could win or lose, it will depend if the LW can reduce its losses and score some more hits, with the Ju-88 included, victory could still be theirs***

The LW now musters its forces for a direct attack on 11 Groups bases, to finish the RAF once and for all in a battle of attrition. Stay tuned!

My thanks to AKIron and Dux for leading in frame 1, good job both of you .

'fraid I have to protest the points being changed after the fact. My plans revolved around ground targets having a specific value. No biggie but if we'd lost as a result I'd be a bit miffed.

After rereading it appears that a "winner" will be determined after all frames? My protest stands.

I didnt like having to do it AkIron, but I have to make sure its a workable formula.

All the ground targets had the same value, so your plan would have worked anyways.

It was an RAF victory.

Like I said before, no biggie. Just that my plan was based on each of the ground targets being worth 50 points and not 200. My strategy would have been different had I thought otherwise.

Seems that in past scenarios the points for objectives weren't revealed prior. That may be the wisest course.

Anyhow, was a lot of fun, for us at least.

I had a fun night also.  We got into it real fast and lost mostof our squad but I managed to find a way out and it was probably my most memorable frame ever.

Disappointing frame for me, and I usually have fun in every frame I fly in.

There should be some rules to keep it alittle bit historical.
