Title: Another Car Dealership Horror Story...this time someone almost dies

Goes out for a test drive, salesman flips the car.

The pic links do have some fairly graphic images...basically the guys face sewn up.

The Neon rolled 4 times down an embankment and a fencepost went through the windshield and peeled his face back from his nose to his right ear!

Cabin looked intact, which is a tribute to the car's designed-in safety cage.  He probably would've walked away with a few scrapes and bruises had it not been for foreign object damage.

I didn't know they still made Neons.  I thought Daimler Chrysler had killed it off in favor of the PT Cruiser.

Those turbo Neons have become the laughing stock of the sport compact community.  Every week there is a new pic of one wrecked and they seem to fold up like a rusty beer can compared to the more robust cars in that class.

Actually. the PT Cruiser is built on the Neon frame/powertrain.

Yeah, that's why I thought they'd killed off the Neon body but had used the parts for the PT Cruiser instead.  I guess DaimlerChrysler found it profitable to build both.

Neons suck - My Plymouth has the same engine as the Neon since Plymouth = Chrysler. 36,000 miles on it and it blew a head gasket followed by the transmission two months later. Would cost $3,000 to repair it all, so we sold it to a guy who works at the transmission station where we had it looked at for $400. Fine end to a 5 year old car that we paid $18,000 for, and the last time I will EVER buy a Chrysler/Plymouth/Any other car made by them.

My brother owns a Neon. Sturdiest and best car I've ridden and driven. Well worth the money. No major issues with it and the engine is smooth as glass.

Scootter, I sell cars. Tell me why you have a problem with my profession. Hell, everyone tell me why. 90-95% of car buyers report that they have had a good experience on their last new car purchase. I am truthfull and straightforward in everything that I do. 99% of the time, when there is lieing going on, it is the customer that is the lier. There is a bad history that the honost salesman has to overcome. There is also bad history that is alive and well in a many dealerships.

Let me make an offer to all of the AH community. I have the experience to make your car buying adventure easy. Anyone that is in the market to buy a car, new or used, e-mail me for the ins-and outs.

New cars are a little harder if they aren't a Chevy, but I can send ya in the right direction. Used cars are a little easier.

E-mail me at mathiason51@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

Laz,

Sorry, I cast a wide net and caught everything in it. I understand that there are a few good, honest folks in car sales, just not enough. I have been fortunate enough to buy a new vehicle every two to three years through my business and after a bout several years ago with car sales people I have learned a way to avoid them. I have been lied to, ridiculed about my choices, and dealt with nincompoops who new nothing about their products. I now shop away from the dealers, get dealer pricing, and buy online. I don't ask questions of sales people or even visit the dealer until they call me to pick up my vehicle.

I  am in an industry with less then honest people doing business also, I am a General Contractor and build high-end custom homes, I feel your pain. Keep up the good work, I am proof that honesty and integrity will allow the cream to rise to the top.
Again I apologize if you took offence to my comments they were unfairly encompassing and simply  an emotional outburst.

Regards,
