Title: A Trojan horse warning for XP users
Post by: gofaster on January 12, 2004, 10:25:58 AM
Came out on Yahoo today about a new Trojan horse (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/cmp/20040112/tc_cmp/17300373) for XP users.  The virus is disguised as a Windows update.  Looks pretty serious.

"To help improve the stability of your computer, Microsoft recommends that you remove the beta version of Windows XP SP1 and re-install Windows XP SP1." The message goes on to urge the user to run the winxp_sp1.exe file attachment to re-install SP1, and recommends that anti-virus software be disabled, as it "may interfere with the installation."

:lol

Hillarious!!! LoooooL!!!

I betya that about 50% that got the mail clicked on the file :D

I´m always amused when the Swedish major newspapers has their polls online with the caption "Do you think your computer is safe/secure"

And about 60% answers YES. The fools... its these 60 procent that are the easy meat to "hack".
