the trees disappear after you get to a certain altitude. is this to improve framerate or a bug?
-
Read me's are a wonderful thing.
Changed the display range mode (shift F1, Shift F2, and Shift F3) to affect the altitude at which
ground objects are hidden. F1 is displays everything, F2 clips objects when your is 1500 AGL, and
F3 clips objects at 500 ft AGL and terrain is cut to 8 miles. You can use these toggles to gain
a lot of frame rate when flying. Currently, vehicles are still displayed when the objects are removed
but that will change in a future version.

"F1 is displays everything"
I tried that yesterday but things still disappear.
I test it again later to be sure...
P4 2.4ghz HT 800fsb
Radeon 9600 Pro fireblade 128mb
2 x 512 MB ddr 400
Intel Mobo (dont remember model)
XP Pro
DirectX 9.0b
-
That would be SHIFT F1
-
Tried again. Used SHIFT F1 and objects still disappear. Cant see houses or other targets when trying to bomb them...
If I press shift F2 and F3 I can see the difference anyway.

check where your object slider is - move it to higher quality less performance - i don't remember exactly what the verbage is.
there are 2 sliders - one sets the detail and the other set the range at which objects are drawn - the second one is the one you want
