Why a nvidia thread? Seems that ati users are having probs. and i want to see if i'm just lucky or are other nvidia users okay.
i have a ti4200.
i'm getting 45 fps flying otw to jabo. 1600 x 1900 res and sliders maxed out for hi-detail.
i think it looks great and dora feels like the dora in ah1. also gas gague moved too.
having a little trouble picking up ack at small airfield but that's cause the new airfields look so different. much more like a real airfield.
great work!

Ti4200 here too. Average high 50s to 60 in 1600x1200 resolution. Sliders are set about 75% of max. Funny thing is, resolution setting doesn't seem to effect frame rates at all.
P4 2.8ghz
1k ram
-
same for me weav exactly the same. i get what you're getting but get a big boost when i go shift-f3.
-
Yet another TI4200, with everytthing set to max quality and 2X aa 50 to 75 at 1200 x1600 x 32 x 75, same as AH1.
-
quite the sturdy little card i guess.
-
I haven't had my Ti4200 in my computer since around 1.995, but it was faster in AH2 by a good 50% over my Radeon 9800. (It's the other way around for every other game I play.) Hopefully HT can figure out what the problem is.
-
what drivers are you all currently using for the Ti4200??
-
I use the 45.23 driver, newer drivers seem to have more stutter in early ah2 betas.
-
You guys make me jealous. 50 fps at 1600x1200 with a cheap Ti4200 when I'm lucky to get 30-35 at 1280x1024 with a Radeon 9700.
-
lol dunno what the prob for the ati guys is but i'm sure they'll fix it.:D
-
6.14.10.5303 is my driver.
-
A steady 33 in the tower and a max of 70 in the air(no not looking straight up)
this is at 1024/768 using a GF2 mx 32 meg on a 1.7 Gig AMD, 128 Megs of ram and win 98 se. 32 bit color
-
i have a crummy nivdia 64mb card but i cant evne play ah2 its like installion -4 and something esle 2 had same problem with ah before
-
I get about 40-42 FPS in tower with clipboard up, 52-54 with it down.

Works for me! :)

Got a GeforceFX 5200, and the frame rate is basically steady at 45ish at all detail levels, but it stutters alot at the highest detail settings so I have to turn them down a bit.
-
wow i wonder why it stutters.
-
Not impressed with anything after the Geforce 4 series either ati or nvidia, didnt seem like they advanced very much.

Well, we won't be able to see the most recent graphics cards' real potential until more games that utilize DirectX9.0 and higher start coming out, like Half-life2 and Doom3.

Dunno, the rest of my system is a Athlon XP 1.5gigs, with 512 megs of RAM. The CPU is getting a little long in the tooth though so that might have something to do with it.
-
Tjay's computer stutters so much it's known as 'Arkwright' !!
-
the cpu i bought 18 mos to 2 yrs ago for $280 is now $180. gotta be the same for amd. slap a fast cpu in that baby and i bet your stutter vanishes :)
-
I'll try that, thanks.

PNY GeForce 4 Ti4400
1600x1200 res sliders 75% all box's checked
shift+f1 58 fps pretty steady
shift+f2 68 to 75 steady
shift+f3 80 to 100+
so far I prefer the shift+f2 as it gets rid of the blinking tree syndrome on my end.
shift+f3 is useless take far to much distance away and makes everything look really crappy.
Results seem to vary from patch to patch this was done on beta 13, has been higher and has been lower.
Hope this helps in any way.

Really not that surprizing since the FX5200 performs only slightly better than the old GF4MX series.
