Wasn't expecting that to be centered at 3 oclock to the turret. I assume that the blindside at 9 oclock is the result of the hatch etc?

Its pretty simple to explain. The hatch is part of the reason, though the person protruding from the hatch would be the main reason. There is no real way for him to point it to the 9 o'clock position and still aim without climbing out of the hatch.

It's basically the same ring mount used originally on Opels and other rigged AAMG mounts.
The mount is on a partial ring that can be rotated 270 degrees around the gun. It's pretty much the same as US pintle mounts, vs fixed mount like what was previously on the MkIV.
