Actually, if you go to COMBATSIM.COM, they have a full length version of the video. It's not just a quick hit, it's actually a weapons exchange between two parties of RPG's.
The full lengh shows them dumping RPG's in a field and other weapons, then another truck shows up while the Apache gets instructions on how to deal with the situation.
Quite interesting that the short clip is very tramatic but the long one actually shows the pilot and the WO crossing T's and dotting i's to make sure they were doing the right thing.
Apache lads. I know you're job is hard.

However, in this thread, nobody had said anyhting about it being anything but too graphic for this board until your post. The link was deleted and that was that until you started in flaming anyone that even expressed an interest in it by calling them a necrophiliac.
Get over it, nobody is sitting here masturbating over images of someone being killed in a brutal fashion. Nobody in this thread had said anyhting the least bit like what you claim they have. If it was another thread, you should have posted in it. Get over your false air of superiority. You aren't. You probably turn your head at accidents to see what happened when you drive by them on the autobahn, true? Similar thing here, but worse in that they are posting images (or links to them) for many more people to see.

I could post a link to old films of russans in military uniform executing other russians in military uniform, in a manner that allowed the freshly shot corpses to drop into mass graves filled with the steaming corpses of literally hundreds of dead russians. Hours and hours of film made way back in the early 40s that is far more disturbing, i repeat: FAR MORE DISTURBING than this weak little guncam from an computerized apache. You can see the facial expressions on these poor bastardz, before, during and after.
Hell, my social studies teacher showed us crap like this back in the 70s and you guys act like its a new atrocity to humankind. What are they teaching our kids these days?

Post a pic of dead American troops or victims of say 9/11 and you'd hear squeals of indignation from those that are panting to view Iraqi's being killed.
If anything I feel Hitech are far too lenient in their administration of the board, warn once, 2nd offence booted for 3 months, 3rd offence booted for life.
Many people here have small children and father's probably like the idea of sharing their AH hobby with their son's - too much of what is posted on the BBS and what is said in Channel 1 in game is totally unacceptable.

Old pictures of people getting blown up in war are fine. In fact, they are very popular and the advertisers support them. Why, even AH ran ads on Wings... which routinely shows enemies getting the old 20mm enema. Think about this: we all helped pay for those ads! Even Dowding!
But..... NEW pictures of people getting blown up are strictly verboten. Too edgy, too "now", too "hey, that was only 6 months ago!"; after all we can't support viewing people that supported a dictatorship dying on film NOW.
Only old pictures of people that supported a dictatorship 60 years ago getting blown up are acceptable viewing.

I said that those which have FUN to look at these videos are IMO necophiliacs (I should have said have a tendency to necrophilia). Do u have FUN to see those pictures? If so u can relate my statement at urself. If not, why bother?

Hmm does this mean i missed the 60 years old gun footage from a Messerschmitt killing soldieres in the history forum?
But honestly u have a point here. What we see at this forum (not the O'Club) is p.e. a crashing B17. There are people dying (not really visible but we know they are there). Everyone who looks at those videos / footages posts that this is a terrible thing.
What makes me angry is (yes Mathman ur right its not so obvious in this thread) that there are people which seam!!! to have FUN (its different to just being interested in something) in looking at dying "ragheads" or whatever. Otherwise i cant explain myself the hype about these videos.

I dont think anyone is having 'fun' watching these videos.
I think its a combination of curiosity and the desire to learn what is actually happening.
I dont see a problem with people trying to educate themselves - reardless of the subject matter.
For the most part, we're all adults here and are able to view images such as those being discussed in a manner other than morbid fascination.

I disagree with your notion. I see footage of this stuff and it just pisses me off because my team is getting clobbered. Im sad when the opposing team gets clobbered too but in that sadness, deeper down, I rejoice...but in a sad way.

I came across and found a report from a Russian Military advisor in my room in 1988. Our baracks in Baghdad were the old Russian Advisors from the mid-eighties. Guess the lad left his report briefing notes on top of his cabinet. I found and submitted them to the UN. It detailed the Soviet report of the use of chemical weapons against Iran and the effectiveness of the weapon types (artillery, motar, and air drop).
And Yeager, know how you feel...happy/sad. Bit of a mixed bad of feelings on how the Americans are getting hammered. The British faced the same problems in the early 1900's when they occupied Iraq after they removed the head state when he became anti-british. Lots of ambushes and roadside explosions then too.
Lets hope the Iraq Army gets back in the saddle again under American/British guidance and takes control of policing the militants.
