There is some variation in the production figures for F8F models, but the overall total is assumed to be 1264 or 1266 -- probably depending on prototypes being included or not.
The F8F-1 had its M3 machine guns buried entirely in the wing -- the breeches were behind the main spar -- while the barrels of the cannon extend well in front of the leading edge.
The cannon-armed F8F-1B had an empty weight 46lb higher and a combat weight 370lb higher than the F8F-1: 820 rounds of 20mm weigh a lot more than 1200 rounds of .50 ammunition.

Ok :)

There's no question of the total numbers of F8Fs built. Just check the Grumman records. I have a list of every S/N, by model.

Grumman F8F Bearcat is good fighter plane which I believe they match up with IJN/IJAAF fighter and they were deploy on the way to Japan, but the WWII was over and they were little late. All I know is that Grumman F8F Bearcat is faster 25 mph than Goodyear F2G-1D Corsair and I dont know how many total numbers been built for Bearcat.
"Grumman exported the Bearcat to the French, hard pressed in their war in Indo China in the early 1950s and these were the only F8F to action."
