Casey Lynn was born by emergency C-Section at 8.18am this morning. 7 lbs 10oz.
It was a looooooong Sunday night/Monday morning.
Both of my boys had bad colds on Sunday morning. I left the older one with his mother at around midday and went to visit my father. During this visit Sam didn't seem well. He was lathargic and kept falling asleep.
When I got home, though, my oldest was in the middle of an astma attack and I grabbed him up and took him to the hospital. That was 3.00pm. At 1.30am he was admitted.
I settled him down to bed and jumped in the car to go home and get a change of clothes etc. When I got there the younger one was breathing badly too.
So...I grabbed him too and headed back to the hospital with their mother along as well.
The wife sat with Sam while the doctors ran around doing their thing in a very busy night for the emergency staff. I went up to stay with the older boy who was still awake.
I guess I fell asleep on the chair next to his bed for at about 3.30am.
At 5.30am I was woken up by a nurse who said my wife was having contractions and that I needed to stay with Sam while she was being checked out.
When I got down to the emergency one of the nurses informed me that the contractions were instense, regular and that she was going to have a C-Section at 8.00am.
I just rolled my eyes and shook my head which got all the staff laughing.
So...the four most important things in my life are all in hospital at one time. :)
They are all okay and mother and baby are doing really well.

I certainly should. ;)
When I was a kid all of the emergency staff there knew me by name and sight. Everything from a few trips for astma (probably where my kids got it..but I grew out of it by 8 years old) to injuries sustained in the hero worship of Evel Knievel.
Now they know my kids just as well down there.

Thanks all. I'm just home to grab a shower again.
The baby is feeding well (look forward to the KC Baby Rib stuff Toad ;) ) and both her and her mother are doing fantastic.
The boys are okay too. Their doctor is going to keep them in the hospital tonight just as a precaution and to actually do me a favour....he recognises that it is much easier having them there as opposd to running back and forth between home and the hospital.
Straffo...you are right, it was an extraordinary wait that we were put through but I have never seen that hospital as busy as it was on Sunday. They weren't minor cases either...two people had to be resusitated (sp?) and there were three serious traffic accident cases to attend to. The doctors and nurses were crazy buzy.
The nurses in the kids ward and on the maturnity ward have been fantastic.
Funked...Ginger Lynn was never considered (and neither was Amber Lynn ;) ). Lynn is just her middle name...she will be simply called Casey...not Casey Lynn when we refer to her.
