The cartoon is obviously an attempt to make a complete satire out of American politics and beliefs. Maybe someone on your side of the pond finds it funny, but I don't.

A waste of bandwidth at best. Not funny here either.

Leave the Buildings out and....well, it's still not funny.

Leave the WTC in and it's just plain offensive....and still not funny.

Sorry.

Ok, I realize I offended a lot of people by posting this link, and I sincerely apologize since it wasn't my intention at all.

That being said, you AMERICANS (in capital letters since one of you seems to think necessary such emphazising) should also realize that most of us modest and miserable europeans were also shocked breathless by the events of 9-11, and felt a great pain for such a terrible loss of life. I don't know about you, but it is not mandatory for me to share a nationality bond with victims so I can mourn them.

Now, unless one of the victims of 9-11 was a close relative to you, I want to say that life goes on. World hasn't stopped spinning on 9-11. This day should never be forgotten, but it shouldn't be the source of a nation-wide post-traumatic stress disorder. Sorry if I sound harsh, but if you keep getting your bunch all tied up in a knot by any allusion of something flying crashing into something huge standing vertically, you're playing the game of the terrorists. Besides, are you offended by shows like Hogan's Heroes, when so many pilots died in WWII prison camps?  In 1998, I was in SF and I saw a presumably AMERICAN man wearing a T-Shirt saying 'Stop plate tectonics!'. Should it be offensive because of the earthquake victims all over the world (and beginning with the 1906 and 1989 SF quakes)?

Was the cartoon funny to my eyes? Modestly, certainly not great but technically well-made. Have I found the WTC allusion offensive? No. Again I may be wrong but I don't think there was an intention to make fun of the victims.

And let's not forget the whole perspective: smoking kills much more people each year than the 9-11 events. Why aren't we offended by those unnecessary government tolerated (when not supported) deaths?

Please don't think that 9-11 hasn't marked my life. It was certainly easier for me than for you to 'digest' the event, but it will eventually happen to you too. It is the only sane way to go through life IMO.

Here is my answer. Probably some of you won't like it. Fire away then. If it can help you to evacuate the anger or resentment you're still feeling, it won't be a bad thing in the end.

Bah...had they left the planes crashing into buildings out, it would be cute.  The Monica in Bills lap was clever :)
