Title: DirectX vs OpenGL
Post by: flakbait on January 21, 2004, 04:58:37 PM
I've been kinda curious about this for a while now. With the Ah2 beta progressing nicely with the new engine, and a couple new games coming out that use an OpenGL engine, I was wondering what the big pros and cons were to each one. I know DirectX uses M$ code and that it can be really tempermental, but I haven't heard much about OpenGL. Except, of course, that Q3/MoH/CoD use it and produce some really amazing visuals.

Care to enlighten an uninformed soul?

I tried Forgotten Battles in both and Half Life in both and I'll be b*****ed if I can see any difference whatsoever.
