At least he made it out okay and no one was seriously injured...

Thx, I thought it was suspicious that they took so long to report on it, and that the pilot did not rejoin the team.
-
Wonder what kind of terms he has to make payments on a $20.4 million F-16....

wow cant believe a Tbird screwd the pooch like that. Those guys are usually the cream of the crop. Just goes to show mistakes happen. I'm not one to talk though cuase I "virtually" auger all the time lol

ah man, wonder if insurance will cover that one:eek:

IIRC correctly, this is not the first with the Thunderbirds.
Years ago they lost 5 or 6 in an accident. The lead went in and the rest followed him in. Can't remember the details, or year though.
Pretty sad, it's a pretty tough environment to fly in at best. Those guys are pretty damn good, and it sucks to hear they lost a jet. Glad the pilot got out.
Saw them in Abbotsford in 92 (i think), the weather was crappy and a low ceiling, but they put on a pretty good abbreviated show nontheless.
cheers,
