How do I get a file off of an old hard drive on a fried computer?
The hard drive is still good, but the computer is unrepairable?

Can't you just temporarily install it in another box as a slave?

That was my initial insticnct, but I was wondering about drivers and whatnot. Or does the 'slave' setting just make it like a floppy ?
Hey, you arent the dj111 that shot my arados down just seconds before the drop, after a 40 minute drive, are you?

install as "Slave" go into the bios and beshure that it gets reconized there as Primary slave if its on the same cable as the main "master" hard drive .
or if its on the secondary cable (the cd rom ) it needs to show up as secondary slave.
exit bios and it should show up in windows as d drive , and your cd rom/s will move one letter down .
(note the master hard drive is probely set on CS (cable select) you may have to switch it to MA (master) and the secondary drive to SL (Slave) on the jumper for this to work.)
you should be able to access the files you want now :aok
