So let me get this straight...
He physically assaulted another person to defend the candidates freedom to speak when a protestor began shouting at said candidate.
Uh....What about the protestors freedom of speech?
Is this how these people think?
Would Franken have stabbed the guy to death if he kept shouting at Dean?
And what of Franken's remark about doing this for any candidate, not just Dean? So does this mean he would body slam a lib shouting down Dubya?
Imagine for a second, if Rush Limbaugh did the exact same thing at a Bush rally.
You think it would be on Associated Press or would the networks break in with a special report?
Geez, what a double standard....
-
YEEAAARRRHHHHH
-
Good think Al Franken wasn't hurt in this incident...
Imagine if this a Bush supporter who attacked a heckler at a Bush rally. The media and our leftists here would be all over it in a second full with inuendo of brown shirt thugs and such...
-
OMFG, Grun...
Could you imagine the Nazi comments?
We could not possibly give the sissy tree huggers more ammo short of starting a fire at the DNC!!
-
Yea but you see, Al Franken is funny.
"I was a wrestler so I used a wrestling move," Franken said.
funny
-
This is pretty pathetic. I hope the protestor sues him. The police should have booked him for asault!
-
$10 it was staged.
-
neo-libs
-
what is the definition of a neo-lib john? we all know neo-cons are the wolfiwitz rumsfeld chenny group that has been around and calls themself neo cons. They believe in creating a new american empire and asserting ourselves around the world.
-
Guys, the same thing happens all the time to both sides of the political spectrum. If you go to a rally and start heckling the speaker, you can pretty much count on the supporters in the crowd to take matters into their own hands. The only newsworthy portion of it is it was Al Franken, who would have undoubtedly roasted any Republican for the same thing. That of course doesn't excuse the heckler, who probably got what he/she deserved.
-
LOL...using the NYPost for a source is like using the Drudgereport for the same...incredibly slanted and often filled with misinformation and in Matt Drudges case, outright lies.
Here's a less slanted view on the incident.

...or you can just wait until all the facts come out...but that would be a bit too logical for knee jerk reactionary...huh.
-
Brownshirted DNC goons, typical.
-
When is Franken's radio show scheduled to go on the air? I want to make sure I miss it.

I like that: 'Here's a less slanted view', then link to an editorial.

Hmmm..
"I got down low and took his legs out," said Franken afterwards
"I'm neutral in this race but I'm for freedom of speech, which means people should be able to assemble and speak without being shouted down."
"I was a wrestler so I used a wrestling move," Franken said

Exactly Muck. They had a good story till it just got retarded. I think that's why it's supposed to be funny.
-
Ohhh he just threw them out of the room... That clears everything up!!!!
Those Dean speeches really get the crowd going, dont they?
-
I love it when he makes that "YEA--HAW" Sound.

I didn't read the article, so I could be wrong about its truthfulness. My response to the topic at hand stands though. Remember the girl who was supposedly slapped around at an Arnold rally? Remember the reactions of Republicans on that one?

Eh, no matter. Stuff is only bad if the other side is doing it.
