Give it a few years - when you grow up, you may actually be interested in what the planes did instead of looking at just the purty pictures.
And that history bit has pics of purty lancasters from when they were first made, right to the end product.

nice

Very very nice replicant! Notice that Radiation sign, I've seen that before inside tempest. It drove the instruments I recall.
-
nice-great photos for cockpit textures in ah2 (when lanc is put in)
:D

Frank, its the stuff they used to make the dials glow in the dark, apparently its radioactive so you cannot spend too much time in an aircraft with them.. even though all the old timers did. Stupid modern rules!
-
Tritium isn't dangerous; nor is Radium when covered.
-
Then it obviously wasn't covered....
-
Then....why would they stick that sign on it when the pilots had no other choise then to fly it? The radiation must be very low, but when too close it can be dangerous I guess.
Watches used to have tritium on it to let it glow, people did get cancer in their wrist etc tho

Nexx I remember you posted some nice close up pict of a Typhoon's pannel can you send me some ?

HSE legal requirements mean possible radiations must be labelled.

I've been in quite a few aircraft where the dials are marked for radiation. For some reason it was only this Lancaster that had restricted access imposed by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). We were limited to only 10 minutes inside the cockpit of the Lancaster whereas other aircraft was unlimited.
