I'd change the music, it makes me sleep!
I saw an excellent one made for a WW2Online squad. It was one of the best I ever saw, very touching. I'll try and find the URL.

Very nice AKIron!
FDSS> If you've got nothing nice to say don't say anything, if you can do better lets see it.

One word OUTSTANDING!

I didn't say it was crap...I liked it.
But look at this one. Not sure if he's a professional, but it is excellent and feels very professional:

Professional? That was a bunch of pictures fading in and out with text. I take it you've never played around with Flash. :)
Nice work there AK Iron! Fatty always gives us our orders on a jpg with a bunch of 2nd grade scribbles all over it. We never read 'em tho', so it's OK. :D

Thanks guys.
FDSS, I'm far from a professional graphics artist. These things are just put together weekly for the TOD. Mostly 'cause I want to improve my skills with Flash. Anyhow, can you name that tune? I thought it especially appropriate considering the date.

Iron,
Very nicely done.
Music:
I go with "Eternal Father, Strong To Save".
Eternal Father — The "Navy Hymn" (http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/questions/eternal.html)
Site has an MP3 of a choir doing the first verse.
"There are have been alternate verses....
Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces in the sky.
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair;
Oh, hear us when we lift our prayer,
For those in peril in the air!
Mary C. D. Hamilton (1915)"
Interestingly, it's the "Official Hymn" of the USAF as well. Rare that the Navy and Air Force agree on anything, eh? ;)
-
On the money Toad! I put in because it was the "Navy Hymn". Being retired AF I thought it sounded a lot like the "USAF Hymn" also, now I know why. :)

Nicely Done Iron!!!
Makes me wanna go out and fly the TOD again!!!

FDSS, I have a riddle for you! What flies like a duck, sits like a swan and has the ambience of a fresh pile of dogshit?

A port-a-loo attached by wire cable to a helicopter?
AKCurly, I liked your flash movie, but I thought the music was a bit too "British"..
Also, would have been nicer if it lasted through the whole sequence of pictures.
SOB, I thought the flashmovie I put the URL to as being professional because note the music finishes at exactly the same time as the seqeunce of pictures and the wording he used was excellent. It just all fit in very well, I thought.

Valid point FDSS, I didn't take the time to preload the pictures so it would "stream" as intended.
However, the music does end at the right point if you have a fast connection or if you let it play a second time after downloading. Of course a reasonably (500MHz +) fast PC may also be necessary to display the pics at the speed intended.
The whole thing certainly could use polish but these things are only usually used to brief the AK's on a weekly basis. In fact, they're eating into my flying time too much so I'm taking a break from them for a few weeks.

Well, it was good for a rush job then. I liked the end bit especially. It was like a history lesson. :D
-
Well done Iron! BTW, that music make the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up :)

It actually saddens me.
First time I heard it was in the Base Chapel. Two helmets and two pairs of flight gloves on the altar.
"Lord guard and guide the men who fly..."
Amen.

Excellent work, Good job Iron! :)

Bunch of old women...go get your hair done. Criticizing a person's work isn't needed.
Nice job Iron! Nice Narration too!
