Here is what im running.
Asus MB 400 FSB 8x agp
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ clocked to 2.2ghz
512 2700 DDR
40 gig western 7200rpm
Radeon 9800pro 128 (using the drivers off the radeon install disk)
Win ME (I am going to xp pro as soon as I can get the wifes comp running)
Ah video set at 1280x1024
When the system was first put together I was getting a solid 75fps. I noticed though that the FPS seems to be maxed out there. (i.e. going through smoke or looking at a blue sky it was still at 75FPS) I had heard people talking about the FPS being limited by refresh rate. I assumed that I was topping out at 75 because thats what my refresh rate was set at.
I really have no idea what refresh rate is..... lol
Latley I have frame rates of 60 instead of 75. Also they seem to be maxed out at 60 just like they were at 75 before. I havnt made any changes that I am aware of. I dont understand why this has changed.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thx......... Dave

first, check your monitor refresh rate, it might have somehow gotten chnaged to 60hz.
second, check the "video" setting in AH, it may also have been changed from unlimited to a capped "60fps"
your resolution 1280 may be the culprit here, as not all monitors support higher resolutions at a higher refresh setting.
these are the most likely factors, especially since you're seeing a steady 60fps; the implication is there's something capping your refresh.

Sounds to me like your refresh rate has reverted back to 60. Right click on Desktop then Properties/Settings/Advanced/Monitor. Change it back to 75 here. Click on the Displays tab and there should be a monitor button or Advanced button the will take you to a "Refresh rate overide" setting that you can set to 75. You can also do this through DXDiagnstic or an addtion app.

Thx fellas.
I found the refresh rate and it was set at 60. I was gonna set it to 85 but it told me I could damage the monitor. I didnt wana screw anything up so I set it at 75.

I did the same thing except I set mine to 75 and it didnt change my FPS,which are sometimes 60 on a good connect.

Yep, frames are at unlimited and refresh rate is 75. Maybe thats all my old video card can do.
