Hey, I got a question...
Our white bread that , I, use for my PB&J sandwhiches starts to smell like alchol or yeast after a couple of days in a bread container..
My questions are,
Is it perhaps the container causing the bread to age faster?
Is the bread already pretty old when we buy it and exposure to air causing this to happen?
And does wheat bread do the same thing?
If not, does wheat bread taste good as a PB&J?
The white bread tastes fine, just kinda not appatizing..or however you spellit :-)

Wow you guys are slow..
I've already finnished my PB&J sandwhich!

You live in Florida, bread is good for 1 day then the yeast/sugar etc ferments in the plastic bag and your breed smells like beer.
Buy 1 loaf at a time or freeze it.
Give up white bread and go with whole grains.

Even better yet. Find the cause for it to smell like alcohol, reproduce the result and then market it.
Instant millionaire :)

Batz has the right idea. You can also keep it in the fridge. Same thing happens here btw...I think it is the heat/humidity thing.

But when we freeze our bread it becomes crumbly..
We do buy 1 loaf at a time.....
It just takes a day or so for it to ferment though..

Fridge it, and make sure the twist-tie is tight.

Or do like every other man in America.. Spin it around and tuck it underneath the bread. :)

The solution is obvious ...
Go to the baker each day and buy fresh bread (plus some croisant ;) * )
I do it daily I can't imagine not eating bread or worst eating not fresh bread it would ruin my meal and make my smelly cheeses taste like BEEEEEEEPPP :)
* french subliminal message.
