One of the new movies that I had to build at the theatre today came with this Trailer attached. Needless to say I am looking forward to seeing it.

Bah!  P40's blow, they can't beat enemy planes, much less alien fighter jets...

Hehe.

This looks pretty neat, I too have hopes for it.  If the theme song in the trailer sounds familiar, btw, it's because it's from Stargate.

Saw the trailer before LOTR... I like!

P40 rocks.  You are not one with the P40.

And they're not alien jet fighters.. they're flappy things :)

If Will Smith couldn't shoot down aliens in an F-18, I don't think Jude Law can do it in a P-40

If you are familiar with the old 40's era serials mason, and like those, you would enjoy it.  It mimics those old movies very well.

I liked it.

I saw it too.  Entertaining, though the cinematography was a bit dark.  I believe it was supposed to be, but nonetheless, it had the quality of a colorized movie.  It doesn't take place in our universe, in that it makes no pretext to conform to reality.  It is very much a Flash Gordon type movie, in the vein of old sci-fi comic books from the pre-WWII era.

heard that aside from a door or two the entire movie is CGI - no set at all

Correct Eagler.  The actors, some (very few) props, but the rest is all CG.  It is only blatantly noticeable in about 3 scenes too.

I would just call it a fun movie to see.

I love the work they did on the lighting to reproduce the 30s movies facial lighting/contrast... plus the hallow around the faces.

The P-40 was just a little overmodelled.

I saw it and it was OK.  Could have had a little more action scenes but I guess that would get more expensive w/ all the CG in all.

If you like "new classic" like movies this is the one for you.  Everything about it in the cinimatography screamed 1930's

If you like movies to be realistic avoid this at all costs.

i realy think they only picked the P40 because of the shark teeth

I liked it alot.  Even the girlfriend and her friend liked it.  So you should be able to finagle getting a female in there.

Dune nailed it.  If you have a GF or a wife with any kind of brain she will like this movie....the action will keep a guys interest as well.

me I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars....but that's just me.

If they are fighting ailens, why didnt they put the Nik in there? Bet it could outturn them ailen flying turds anyday.

Or how about HT creating a parody of the trailer

"HiTech and the PT boats of tomorrow"  Where as P40's have to defend themselves against an attack of Uber flying PT boats

I've seen a trailer amd it showed these large, weird metallic craft in the air with big Union flags on them (i.e. UK flag). Is that part of the story?

That post was from january.  Second, I was being sarcastic, although I'm not sure it came across too well.

The P40 is the most deadly plane in the whole game.

Good popcorn flick...just saw it on PPV.  Some of Paltrow's lines were a bit annoying and forced though.  The action scenes(many) are very pleasing especially the scene in the city with the spray and pray flapping planes.

Yes it was released over here before Christmas. Went to see it and as long as you're not expexcting realism or highbrow stuff it is bloody good. Plus Angelina Jolie plays a Brit well. Funny American uniforms on the british Navy characters though!

:aok From me. Turn your brain off for the night and go see it.

It was good that they toned down the normal british jibberish and made it a bit more mid atlantic.

Not at all.  When I was in england I constantly had to say "what?" after some long, lazy string of jibberish.   I was told that It was I who had the accent.   This seems odd since I am from California.   The same place that all the british singers must be from.

I think it pertenent to point out also that no one in england or Scotland had any touble at all understanding my version of english yet... not only could I not understand them... they couldn't even understand each other.

rights do indeed come with responsibilities but that does not mean your mommy needs to get involved.
