Wow does this look good! Judging from the trailer, the zombies are a little peppier than the original ... like you can't toy with them before killing them like the bikers did in the mall ... you either kill them or RUN! :D

I used to love those zombie flicks.

The zombie movies get to me on some kind of elemental level, Ra. I believe I've seen every one thats been made. I've seen Dawn of the Dead probably 10 times since it came out, and I'm still geeked about this remake coming out in March.
I don't know what it is. I even dream about zombies fairly frequently. I know all the zombie lore. I even screwed a zombie b*tch in a dream - that wierded me out when I woke up. :lol
In my dreams I'm either killing them, trying to outrun them, or trying to fit in with them so they don't notice I'm not one of them. Never works though. They just know.

Working the night shift again? ;)

LOL, hello there Ozark! Naah, got bankers hours now, thank God. :)

I'm a huge George Romero and John Carpenter fan. THe dead trilogy is my my Star Wars. The movie looks good but ALOT is changed. ie running zombies.. just not the same. The good thing is at the time of the remake release Anchor Bay is releasing a huge DVD box set of the Orginal Dawn of the Dead with countless goodies and dif versions.. the holy grail for zombie fans like myself.
Gunther..
I've got a good zombie genre movie/book collection going if you are interested. http://www.homepageofthedead.com is a good resource too.. full of hardcores that spend their days answering "what if" fantasizing of zombies walking.

It's okay, Gunthr. There is certainly something disconcerting about the dead who don't die. Unseemly. Inconsiderate.
My childhood was terrorized by the undead variant known as The Mummy's Ghost. Cotton-pickin heap of rags chased me everywhere. Fortunately he and zombie buddies like him were slow, and nothing is faster than a scared kid.
(Scary movie rule No. 1: Never make monsters faster than the audiences or they will eat the audiences and box office receipts will plummet.)
Other monsters added to my torment. Until one night when a giant ape stared in my window and I said to myself (my first epiphany), THIS IS JUST A DREAM! I punched the ape in the face, and he went away. So did his creepy associates.
And then I read threads like this, and realize -- the zombies are still chasing somebody somewhere. You are now advised as the pilgrims were when they confronted the rabbit in Monty Python: Run Away! Run Away!
But first punch them in the face.

btw ever catch yourself day dreaming of what it would be like if the world was attacked by dead Nazi zombies, your not alone.

Holy cow, I gotta see this one.
One of my fav movies is the 1968 - Night of the Living Dead.
I also liked 28 days (recent movie)
and of course, the original dawn of the dead...I love these flicks!
This new one looks good to me. Just in time for my birthday too
-
dawn of the dead was the best.. looking forward to the remake.
Can you imagine wandering through a huge sporting goods store and picking out the best zombie neutralizer firearms?
no fair that they run in this one tho... I can't run for crap. Oh well.... 12 guage time for them.

I saw previews for this and it looked REALLY GOOD!

The zombie things in 28 Days Later were good.

I like Resident Evil. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Is it a coincidence all the zombie movies come out when Republicans are in charge?

No. All those unemployed Democrats need a job.

An interesting twist in the new DAWNDead movie is that there is a little fetus zombie/baby zombie, and if I'm not mistaken, the alive guys are ok with partial birth abortion :lol
-also the liberal zombies are all milling around their old hangouts from when they were still alive ... welfare agencies, check cashing stores, abortion clinics, gay bath houses, hollywood movie lots, discos, Massachusetts, etc...
Also - Lazs, if I'm gonna go with a 12 ga. shotgun, which is a pretty good choice, I'd get me a Streetsweeper and load it up with slugs, along with bandoleers. I'd carry some kind of carbine on my back, and a couple high capacity semi-auto handguns in right and left holsters. I think 9mm would be fine for that. :D

I loved the 28 Days zombies, because they were like crackhead trackstar zombies, screaming like alarm sirens.
-
28 days... LOL... brits were all using machetes and clubs and such when even a drop of zombie blood would turn you into one... I woulda popped the trunk on the first cop car to get the guns or gone to wherever it is brits in charge hide the guns from the citizens and.... loaded up.
Don't know what kinda slug it takes to deactivate a dawn of the dead zombie but if one of the .32 balls from 00 buck would do it then a streetsweeper would be great... need something in carbine too with 40 round mag... sure would be fun huh?

Not really a zombie movie/book but Stephen Kings "The Stand" is unbeatable :D

I hate to say it, but yeah, I'd be having a field day :rofl

I saw the original b/w version by Romero. What really made that one so creepy was (a) the character conflicts of the survivors inside the house - parallelisms to life in a bomb shelter after a nuclear war; and (b) the zombies were slow enough that you could run away but eventually you'd tire and they'd just keep coming... and coming... and coming.
"More Brains!"

I like em slow and dumb. The fast ones freak me out too much. :lol
I agree, the other factors are thought provoking too, like what it would be like to wake up on a day like that.
Would you have the will to do what you have to do while grieving your loved ones (who maybe tried to munch on you)?
Would you have the will to not go for the oxycontin and amphetamines in the pharmacies?
Would you pig out on all the fine food in the meat lockers, etc. as long as the electricity held out?
Or would you try to find an answer, or solution, like in Omega Man?

A really good zombie genre book that just came out is "The Rising" try to grab a copy. Heard they are already negoitating a movie script. Kinda glad to see the zombie hype, it can alone mean one thing in the end. George Romero's 4th script "Twilight of the Dead" will see light.

A real classic for me is Return of the Living Dead. Naked punker chick zombie... send more cops... (send more paramedics)... if you loved me you'd let me eat your brains... split dog... really an 80s classic horror but campy funny flick with good acting for the genre.
