Title: motherboard question
Post by: -Concho- on January 31, 2004, 09:53:28 PM
bought me a new intel d875dbz motherboard and a p4 3.0.  hooked everything up, plugged her in and nothing.  tried all of the trouble shooting that i can think of.. unplugged ide's, cards, hdd, ram, etc, still nothing.  the power supply checks out on another machine.  all that happens a small led called "str led" on the board comes on and the power light comes on.  none of the fans, including the power supply come on.  nada.  went out and picked up an intel d865perl thinking it was a bad board, it does the same exact thing.  wtf am i not doing right.

thanks in advance.

try the extra switch on the power switch connect yet ???

I dont think this is the problem "But " id try floating the mainboard (take the screws out and slide anti stat plastic under it ) Note i ussually get multi post beeps when its a ground problem.  you may have to take the back panel out also .

i'd also suggest trying anouther power supply also if you have one.  (ive actually had a ps that worked fine in one machine but not in another)
