Alrighty,  ive recently been thinking of opening a new internet - based business,  and ive just been wondering if i would need any kind of liscense to sell from my home on the net?  

Can someone enlighten me on the subject.  Thanks.

it depends on what your selling and how you sell it, laws vary from city to city, so you should check with your city license dept.

We live in california and operate a business from our house.  We have a federal and state tax ID as well as a california business liscense.  Just to let you know.  Also the Fed Tax ID no. is good if you want to purchase anything wholesale.
