I've been waiting for this book for awhile now! Could of bought it for $100 about 5 years ago. I just ordered it today for $29.95!!! It is called "SPITFIRE: The History" It is a very big book with 634 pages and 1,250 B&W photos, and 16 color pages!! Could not believe it was for $30!!
I know what you're thinking, "You are CO of JG2 and you bought a book on the Spitfire?"
The Spit has always been my favorite and I always look for a reason to fly one in AH!!
They do not have it in stock yet. Middle of this month they will send it out! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

Sundog! Where did you order it from??? I ordered mine from Zenith Books!! page 9!! I couldn't believe it when I seen it! Glopuk, This is the first time I seen this offered in Zenith books in about 5-6 years!! So I'm sure it is the new version. It has a pitcure of Spitfire MJ730 on it. MJ730 still flies today and ownership of this Spitfire just changed hands last year.
Whoever is intrested in this book, let me know and I will send you the phone number and stock number of the book!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/cool.gif)
Funked I e-mailed Karnak the phone number and order number for the book, but you do not have your e-mail available on your postings!! I won't bite!!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Swager tell me the details please, I want to buy it.

Barnes & Noble online has it too, but it doesn't ship until November 15th. If you use this code (BNTOUR6), you'll get $10 off a $30 order too. Do a search on tatoo, and you'll find a book of temporary tatoos for a buck...that'll get your total over $30 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Just ordered mine...Thanks Swager!

If it's got the same cover as the one on the link I posted, then it's not the revised edition.
This month's Flypast is the first one advertising the new revised one with a different cover, so I'd imagine the revisions are pretty recent...
(Which probably explains why I got mine so cheap from them in July!)
Glop, out.

The one on B&N gives the publish date as November 2000, so hopefully it's the new one (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I bought my mine through the keymag website...I buy many books form Zenith Avation, however, when I ordered the Spit book I didn't see it in their catalog. I did just recieve `Black Cross Red Star', Volume I from them though. I can't wait to start reading that!
Hey Swager, being an LW fan, I don't know if you have any of these books, but they are all excellent. Too bad the Hs-129 book is out of print, it is another excellent book.
Classic Motorbooks (http://www.classic-books.co.uk/)
Their series called JAGDWAFFE is excellent and their series on the Me-262 is the finest books I have ever seen and read on that aircraft program.

To follow up Sundog -
It's just Classic Books (or Classic Publications), Motorbooks has nothing to do with them AFAIK.
And to reiterate - the Me262 series has been nothing short of superb - and until recently Vol. 1 was *very* hard to get hold of - luckily it's just been revised and reprinted, so if you want it - get it now (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
The other books in there are excellent too, I *really really* recommend Hs129.
Glop, out.

Wow, that is a good deal. I had to special order mine from the UK and spent around 100 bucks.
