Title: wild graphics problems
Post by: Captain Virgil Hilts on February 05, 2004, 12:42:01 AM
Got my new computer up and running, and installed AH. No matter what the settings, I get wild flashing colors, and the cursor has "beams" connected to it. When I go to the hanger, the plane "flashes", and the "ground" in the hanger is blue. All of the images are distorted.

My computer

Soltek SL-75 FRN2 RL
AMB 2500+ Barton
512 MB PC 4000 OCZ RAM
WD 37 GIG SATA RAID HD
GeForce 3 Ti 200 64MB DDR 4X AGP
Creative Audigy Live!

OS Windows 2000 Pro

The graphics card is not overclocked, its running at default
The memory is set to "aggressive"
The FSB is 200mHz
The multiplier is set on 10x

1) Get the latest service pack for Windows 2000.

2)  Use either the 30.82 or 41.09 NVidia drivers for that video card.  If you use the 5x.xx series you will have some problems as that series has been optimized for the FX line.

I've got some 40series drivers in it right now, I've got a few different versions. I downloaded some service pack too. I'll reply again this evening. Thanks for the tips Skuzzy.

Don't forget to check "disable paletized swap" or whatever it is in AH video setup..

Got a message back that the email had a fatal error. Seems some MORON forgot to put ".com" on the end of the address. I knew there was something wrong when I didn't get a reply from billing within a few hours.
