Zazen...I remember you. Good to see your still in the flight sims. Still cherry pickin with a 190? It worked real well for you in AW.
You were generally high on the board.

Heh, yea, still cherry picking away, I'll always cherry pick so long as people continue to fly like cherries , kind of like the old saying, "It takes a willing vulchee for there to be a vulcher" :D But, I had to give up the Fw190, the AH version does not appeal to me. Pitifull nose low deflection view (realistic, AW's was probably too generous), questionable ballistics, and a flight model that is very suspect. As far as being high on the AWFR killboard goes, yea I won more than my fair share of Fighter camps, but that was just an incidental symptom of me endeavoring to fly my chosen ride as realistically as possible within the paradigm of the gaming environment. ;)

Of course not, other than the fact that HTC has admitted it generally didn't model forces correctly and/or generalized/oversimplified them too much. I will be interested to see how the Fw190 flies comparatively in AH2 with the revised flight modelling. There seems to be some pretty big discrepancies between how the Fw190 actually performs in AH and how it really did in WW2, especially in the maneuverability department.
From what I understand of first hand accounts and books, the Fw190 when introduced outmaneuvered both the 109 and the Spitfire in most areas at that time, it was a huge shock to the British and was considered the best fighter in Europe until the P51 Mustang came along.

MANDOBLE will be his friend. ;)

I always rem Zazen as pony pilot in AW........... must be fading.
AW Ki84 had this super high speed instantanious turn with 1 notch of flap, lousy roll rate (at speed) and you could break the wings.
Interestingly AH's N1K2 FM is closer to AW's Ki84 FM than AW's N1K2 fm.
I think we were supposed to note the cut and paste job on the graphic.................thats an AH terrain isn't it?

he was fw/f4u in aw3... usually waaaaaaaaay up there at 30k+

In the same thread where former AW players wave off the Ki.84 because it will be too dominant in the arena, they note the differences between the AW and AH Fw190s.
Doesn't it stand to reason that the AH Ki.84 would have FM differences from the AW Hayate as well, and therefore might not come to be so dominant as it was in AW? I came from Warbirds, and while the Ki.84 was competitive, it certainly wasn't dominant. It could be a handful for the pilot during hard manuevering, and wasn't as fast as the plentiful P-51s or Yak-3s.
It wasn't as popular as the Spit IX.
Could it also be possible that AW's Ki.84 FM had flaws? You have to wonder why 75% of the Big Pac chose to fly them.
And finally, if it really is as bad as the ex-AWers claim, it could be limited by perking it.
Just seems to me former Air Warrior players have been shell-shocked by the Ki.84, but they need to realize it won't be the same bird in AH, and even if it turns out to be as bad as feared, AH has ways to deal with overpopularity.
By the same token though, I can imagine what I would say if a few years down the road I found myself in a different sim, where players were posting pics of the LA-7 saying "we need this one!".

yeah oboe... if anything the current n1k in AH is more like the
Ki-84 was in AW.... the N1K in AW would be more comparable to the f4u in here.. it was fast... didn't turn as well as the one in AH, nor handle as well slow.
no idea how the frank would end up in AH...

Well.. I have a decent story to go along with this cherry picking crap.
The other night, I was doing my thing, flying around and killing nOObs. :D Well, I killed one guy on many occasions, probably 10 or more. He says I am a turn and burn dweeb, and that I suck for using flaps to turn. Keep in mind I'm in a P38.
So, I was fighting low and slow on the deck, and he ups a Tempest and takes 10K dive passes on me, about 15 times in a row, and never gets close to landing a shot on me. Then he has the balls to say... "This is how your supposed to fly, and you suck for not flying your 38 the way its supposed to."
Is it just me, or is his mentally challenged for saying this?

The only proof you need is the knowledge that they took the howitzer-armed Frisbee away from him.

The proper answer to the Spit and LA-7 hordes is a P-51/Mustang Mk I with 4 Hispanos. Too bad we don't have one.
With the passage of Lend-Lease, 150 more Mustangs were ordered by the US Army, all of which were intended for delivery to Britain. These were designated Mustang Mark IA by the RAF and NA-91 by the factory. The Mustang IA differed from earlier versions in having the machine guns replaced by four 20-mm wing-mounted Hispano cannon, with most of the long barrels protruding well ahead of the wing. For contractual purposes, these aircraft were given the US designation of P-51 and assigned the USAAF serials 41-37320/37469. The RAF serial numbers assigned to this lot were FD418/FD567. The Allison V-1710-F3R engine was given the US Army designation V-1710-39. Throughout 1941, the Army referred to these aircraft under the name Apache, but this was changed to Mustang at about the time the deliveries began in mid-1942.
The British did not get all of these NA-91s. Since the RAF deliveries took place after Pearl Harbor, many were repossessed by the Army before they reached England. These included RAF Mustang IA serials FD418/FD437, FD450/FD464, FD466/FD469, and FD510/FD527. The Army planes were armed with four 0.50-inch machine guns rather than the 20-mm cannon and were fitted with two K-24 cameras in the fuselage. Most retained their RAF camouflage and serial numbers, although some were indeed painted with their equivalent USAAF serials. These were designated as tactical reconnaissance aircraft and were designated F-6A, but this designation was soon changed to P-51.

Given that the Yak 3 was a bit faster, climbed quicker low down and accelerated better than the Yak9U, I think you would find this amongst the hordes if introduced.

I pretty much exclusively flew Fw190-A8 in AWFR.

I had some guy call me clueless because I would angles fight instead of going for the HO. According to this uber virtual jockey, it takes more balls to HO than to turn fight. It sounds like you ran into the same guy I did.

Warbirds representation of ki84 is no uberplane.
it is a good plane with good guns , but it locks up by compression in dives and sucks at altitude and has weak armor.

The same thing in AW3.

Compared to the Yak9T yes............
Yak3 had the VK105 PF2 the 2 designating that the level of boost for both 1st and 2nd stage of supercharge had been lifted from 1050mm to 1100 mm at which the engine was continuously rated.
The VK107 of the yak9U was actually a more powerful engine but the Yak 3 was considerably lighter.

Yeah AKAK, hes a real idiot.

Where is that guy? I need someone I can actually whup in a fight.
