Title: Whoa...401k results for 2003
Post by: LePaul on February 09, 2004, 09:35:15 AM
I'd say the market is doing quite well.

I just got my 401k report and from 2002 to 2003, my balance did better than doubled!  I ended with about $2400 and am currently at $5100ish.  Wow.

Go, market, go!

I finally bothered to open my mutual fund statements.  For the past year or two I've just thrown them on a shelf so that I wouldn't have to see how much I'd lost.

Although I'm still at a net loss, things are on the way up.  :)

Incidently, I would consider moving about 25% of your portfolio to a mutual fund or dare I say a low risk fund and hold onto your profits, as the market fluctuates, so does your cash, unless you time it right and put some of those profits away in a safer fund.  I survived the Tech boom bust by yanking most if not all of my technology stocks into a mutual fund in 1999, 6 months before the bust.

My investments are looking good as well.  A nice change considering I was hammered a few years ago.
