Col. J.D. Lander's Big Beautiful Doll, p51d.

Should I put the kill symbols on it?

Still have to do the title, tweak the nose and put the star on the sides.  Also put chrome on the exhaust.

You also should check your wing edge.

What I mean, is in the first image where you can see both the top and bottom of the wing, your wingtip colors don't line up.

This happened to me as well.  The upper wing is actually a little smaller texture wise than the lower so doing a straight copy from wing top to wing bottom doesn't scale properly...

Hmm, but I ligned it up by the panelling...

Updated.

So should I put kill markings on it?

hmmm, If you were doing a specific plane or pilot, then I would say yeah.  If your just doing squadron colors, with no specific pilot in mind then I would so no.

Err, any idea of how to add a "Metal" type paint to the exhaust?

Nevermind.  Spent so much time just to get the vents to be a metal color.

Pictures updated.

Looks very nice, you might want to check sources for how far the chequer-board pattern extends inboard from the wingtips, it's a long time since I skinned that aircraft for air-warrior, but I recall more bare metal being visible.

Anyone know how to make curved text?

Or fit text to a path?  I can't remember, been a few years since Photoshop class.

Oh, and the checkerboard is where it should be.  I counted panels.  Plus i've done the Main body star and letters, and the pilots name.

I have left:
The title
The kill symbols.

Pictures updated.  I got the title on (but it will be mirrored on the other side :( ).  I also put the pilot's name on.

Going to work on the kill symbols and the star on the fuselage needs a touch tweek.

So how do we find out if our skin is accepted by HT?

After flying online in the Beta Arena, I noticed some skins being downloaded in the background.

A message would appear:  "skins/P51D1.res has been downloaded" or something similar.

I'm not sure if these skins are already accepted or being used for testing purposes at the moment.

Is this what a Japanese Kill symbol looks like?  I don't have much to work off, nor could I find any decent ones on the internet.

Excellent, thanks.  My skin should be done in a day or two.
