Post by: Soulyss on February 12, 2004, 01:10:15 PM
That's right gents unpack your bags we're staying in the PTO one more week.    Next week will be The Slot

Confirmed Planeset

Allied:
F4F-4
SBD
TBM
M-16
M-8
LVT (non-cv fleets only)
PT Boat

Axis:
A6M2
Val

Level bombers have not been finalized but if they are included it will be the Boston for the allies and Ki-67 for the axis.

Ack and fuel will be CT standard
Fleets will be at half the MA standard hardness
(4k for cv's and 750lbs for the rest)

Enjoy. :)

Let me be the first to say, NO level bombers.  Let's try this setup once without the Ki67's.

What Storch said might be a good idea. Another good idea thats floated around lately came from VF-27's Erg. His suggestion is to have less models per setup. I like his suggestion, I may not know what his views are on it, but to me, it would allow more setups.

If you concentrated on a maximum of two fighter types  for each side when possible on these setups might become more interesting, plus it would give you CM's more options. The 7 model on this side 6 on the other have been done time after time, and ideas are running out for new setups.

How about a setup with say P-47 D11's Hurri II's or a applicable spit model against the 109F, OR ,,,,NOT AND ,,G-2, and the FW-190A5.

You could use the same map later with later models , or dfferent models. Same map but different setup. It would work in PTO's, ETO's, MTO's, and Eastern Front.

Justa thought
:)

I like the idea, too... maybe 2 each side to start with, then add a 3rd on wednesday or so.

Before people get carried away, I'd like to state for the record that I have not said whether anything will change as the week rolls on or not.  I simply said I will give it thought and discuss the matter with the rest of the staff and we'll see.  :)

IF  anything does happen it will not happen before Wednesday night.

Lets try it with out the KI-67 and Boston. The KI-67 has no place there and the Bostons are a bit frustrating for Zeke drivers.

I have talked bombers with Brady and we've decided to give the setup a go w/out level bombers and see how it goes.

Whoohoo! :D
Was starting to suffer from withdrawal.

If you're counting votes, here's another to leave the level bombers out.

Lowe.  Agreed on the suggestion you attributed to erg.  I made exactly the same pitch back in December to limited response.

Actually, after thinking about it, the 68th Lightning Lancers had 25 P40E's and Guadalcanal starting in November so I think they should be in the set from the start.

I was just being tongue and cheek Storch. Its nice to see others express an interest in adding those a/c.

Two weeks of PAC? I like it. Lets do this more often.

As for the Ki-67, it has no place in that setup, F4Fs have no chance to catch it. Ju88 (Bettys) I can see.

The problem with the Ju88 is they carry more ordanence than the Peggy about 6000lbs worth.

keep out them lvl bombers and this map is a winner.  f4f vs the a6m2 is a touch match for the lone allied, but without the worry of huge ki67 blazing away overhead, this could be fun.  IF bombing is going to happen, escorts will have to happen.  I LOVE IT!

Soulyss you da man.

Thanks for remembering that idea lowe, I hope we start doing this more often.

This map and the fights have shown that less is more.  Simple, enhances the best combats, and without the twin engines we saw all manner of Kates, Vals etc. up.

This one is a pure winner to my mind.

Sakai

PS

Could we someday see a P-38 Pacific feature?  Like 38s versus the A6M5 and Ki67?   Arlo will do all the work for you.

Just asking.
