United.....
Dale Jarrett #88 is my fav driver....Ryan Newman number two.
LVMS is my favorite track followed by Rockingham
Gotta Pull for DJ but I think that Jimmie Johnson might win (sad as well)
I think the new system sucks.
Sadly I think that Jimmy will not get sponsorship although I would donate if we could get enuf together just so he would keep that snot nosed brat in line!!!!!
Ill be going to Las Vegas here in 3 weeks and then to Phoenix in November.
I like Ward Burton alot...so does my wife...when we go to the races I have Ward and Jeff set up on the scanner as a primary channel so I can listen to them....the stuff that comes out of their mouths is absolutely the BEST entertainment on the track!
I still cant get used to Ward driving the NetZero Chevy....doesnt have the same effect as "WAHHHHD BURWWWTON and DE CATAPIWWWA DOSHHHHHHH"....LOL

NASCAR is t3H SUck!
It's good if you're having trouble taking a nap, better than any over the counter sleeping aid.
-
OHHH FOX 100%
NBC's coverage is horrid.....FOX ALL THE WAY
Here is a bit of a story that happened to me the other day. I have NEVER missed a single episode of Totally NASCAR since its inception. Unfortunately they dont Re Air the show on Speed any longer...RATZ...well my DIRECTV did not carry the Fox Sports net.
I then decided to go with DishNetwork.....they offered me a sweet deal but would be about 15 bucks more a month....
Well the wife said ask DIRECTV about their offers....well lo and behold DIRECTV does have Fox Sport net and I get it! They folks at DIRECTV are now installing a new dish and Im getting HDTV as well!!!!
Too bad Daytona wont be in HD...would love to see it. Now I get my Totally NASCAR and get HDTV....
GOTTA HAVE MY NASCAR!
-
RPM......
I thought it was pretty funny that your boy Mark Martin was riding around in the "Oscar Mayer Weiner" paint scheme....LOL
From VIAGRA to Weiners....hmmm.....LOL
I like Mark Martin as well.....dont care for Rusty but like Mark.
I think my most hated driver would have to be Kurt Busch. I cant stand that arrogant little snot nosed brat! Im glad Mr Excitement punched his lights out...Robby Gordon went up in my book when he said that he'd pay Spencer's fine last year too! That was PRICELESS!:D

Ummm, Daytona WILL be broadcast in HDTV on NBC. 1st Time ever.
Daytona 500 being offered in HDTV
The Associated Press
The Daytona 500 will be the first auto race to be broadcast in high definition.
The Feb. 15 race is being shown by NBC.
Besides a clearer and sharper picture, director Mike Wells said Thursday the HDTV broadcast will allow viewers to see more cars on the left and right of the screen than they would with standard television.
"It gives you that bigger feel," Wells said. "You feel so much more a part of the event."
The network has no immediate plans to broadcast future races in high definition.
NBC has had success with the Daytona 500 before. The network's broadcast of the 2002 race got a 10.9 rating, the highest ever for start-to-finish coverage.

I caught that too, Mark has to wonder what the heck Jack is thinking.
I like Mark Martin as well.....dont care for Rusty but like Mark.
I never cared for Rusty til I met him. He is the real deal. Only other driver I know that's as friendly in person is Michael Waltrip.

I like Kurt (sorry), he's got talent. My most hated was Steve Park, thankfully he's gone so Kevin Harvick is now at the top of my list.
-
OMG are you insane man!!!!!
I think Kurt Busch is an arrogant little snot nosed brat...have I said that enough....:lol
I will admit he has the talent....dont get me wrong but the way he handles himself is pitiful. Especially after the fans brought out the tapes of the in car audio about how he was deliberately going after Jimmy Spencer that sealed the deal....oh well I dont like him.
Steve Park.....OHHH I FORGOT THAT GUY.....LOL glad he is in the trucks now and out of Winston (freudian slip) uhhh Nextel Cup.
I dont like Gregg Buttfle either...I mean Biffle. I have never EVER heard Dale Jarrett get so upset with another driver over the radio as I heard in Phoenix this past November. I also boycotted NBC...well still gotta watch...because DJ came from dead last to 8th position and not ONCE was he mentioned on the coverage.
On the HDTV note......I hope our affilate here broadcasts in HDTV here in Albuquerque....that would be a hoot cuz I am having about 10 guys from my squadron come over for the race. We go to LVMS and Phoenix every year.....about 10 or so of us all get block seats and have a blast!
Last year at Vegas I didnt miss a lap of racing....MY BLADDER WAS GONNA EXPLODE! We stuck it out through the thunder, lightning, and the hail and saw qualifying under the lights at LVMS...VERY COOL....Hope they add another race there perhaps at night. That track has really come into its own over the past 3 years....cant wait to get there.....:aok
-
I have to admit I like Kevin Harvick.....I "stalked" him in the forum shops at Ceasars last year.....he also was really nice and signed an autograph for my buddies son. Hes pretty nice. His temper is humorous at times and he hates Busch so he's ok in my book....good racer as well!
You follow ARCA as well? I played Black Jack with Deborah Renshaw at the MGM....nice person....wasnt sure 100% why she got booted from the ARCA Daytona race a few days ago and Blount drove for her but I heard it was sponsor problems.....
I could go on and on about NASCAR!
-
lmao too funny about mark martin,,,but i like that guy,,good driver allways seems to stay in the top 10:)
i wish swerving {ernie} erving would come back:)
-
450 laps of driving around "staying near the front" with lots of full course yellows to keep the pack together and then 50 laps of racing.
when are they going to get ride of 5 bolt wheels and carburators, they arn't racing "stock" cars anymore, besides the cars they are suposed to be all have fuel injection.
-
I gotta admit, after 3 months of racing withdrawal, I watched 15 minutes of that night Daytona race without flipping channels.

And OHC engines and ABS and radial tires and independent rear suspension and more than 4 gears and distributorless ignition etc etc etc.
-
I agree that the super speedway races are a bit boring. Daytona is by far my least favorite track to watch things at but all the hype and hoopla with being the first race of the season really makes it worthwhile.
As far as stock cars...they are not....I wont even debate that. But it is by far my favorite sport bar none! (well maybe Sheep Shearing is cool too....LOL)
-
Funked.....
Just where is aztlan? Not sure what that means
-
WRC is where it is at now.

WRC is where it is at now.
Yup, NASCAR is boring. All the daytona 500 does for me is clog up traffic.

1) Who is your favorite driver?
Jeff Gordon, mostly because (a) I like the orange and blue paint job (Go Gators!) and (b) so many old NASCAR fans hate him.
2) What is your favorite track?
Actually, I have three: Daytona, Watkins Glenn, and Pocono. My all-time fav is Sebring, but NASCAR doesn't race there.
3) Who will win the Nextel Cup this season?
The new points system will reward the driver who can adapt the most. Getting an early jump on the season won't be so much of an advantage as it used to be. I think the two strongest programs are the DEI cars and the Gordon/Johnson team.
4) What do you think of the "Race for the Championship" points change this season?
I like it. It minimizes the impact of an early lead and keeps more drivers in the hunt. I think the biggest beneficiaries will be guys like Dale Jarett and Mark Martin, guys who consistently do well but manage to finish a few spots off the leader. The downside is that it might take away some of the excitement of the mid-season races, since dropping a race won't be quite so harmful. It also adds some excitement to the last 3 or 4 races prior to the "playoffs" as some of the mid-pack cars try to jockey into one of the qualifying spots on laps and points.
5) Will "Mr Excitement" Jimmy Spencer find a sponsor for the season?
A company looking for some quick exposure for 2 or 3 races might pick him up. He can drive a race car. The risk is whether he'll do something that would embarrass the sponsor.
6) Will you be going to any of the races this year?
No. I'm doing the ALMS race at Sebring this year instead.
